I will admit, that in that 10.4 is an improvment, over 10.3. But The killer app I wanted was Dashboard, and it turned out to be useless. Plus the removal of iPhoto, pissed me off. My entire point is that for what I use my mac for I could have kept 10.2 and it would have been exactly the same. I wrote this while pissed so it is not entirely free of mallace. But more or less I stand by it. Tiger is a nice upgrade for mac people. Is it a reson to switch to Mac. No. Not if 10.3 was not, or 10.2. Ill

Today was a great day of disappointments for me on the computer front. After much pondering, for reasons I will explain, I decided to take a trip to the Apple store and Upgrade my Mac to OS-10.4 "Tiger". I have had a Mac for 3 years now. I spent $3000 on it, and have used it probably a grand total of maybe 80 hours. This is my own fault. There is nothing really wrong with
Icon 86 (Removable Drive) We have one last Default Drive type: the Removable Drive icon. This used to be used most often for Zip Drives, Jazz Drives and the like. These days it is most commonly used to represent USB Drives, and most common of these are Thumb drives. So I de
Icon 86 (RAM Drive) Today's icon is pretty obscure. Not many of us use RAM Drives these days, but it is supported in the default icons in an Icon Package. This one is always kind of odd, but I tend to use a Memory Chip. Today we will do the same. The techniques for doing today's
It depends on the Widget, and how it is set up.
Icon 85 (SD Card) Moving on through the Drive icons, these days I find myself using SD Cards as my primary form of flash memory. Since I use it the most I want to get it out of the way right away. The steps for this are almost identical to yesterdays icon. The only real
Icon 84 (CompactFlash) I want to do several more drive icons. We still have a few of the defaults left, but just for fun I think I will do the Compact Flash drive icon. This one is nice because it is pretty common, so it should be useful to a lot of people. </FONT
That would be cool, I dont know if it would be posible, or how many pepople would buy it. But it sur would rock. I would like it working with my Mac first. But that would be the next thing on my wish list.
Upgraded to 10.2 tonight. Big waste of 129 bucks. This entire upgrade can be sumed up as "pritty but useless" Not only that they took all the i Apps out of the OS, except iTunes, so if you do a fresh install you lose them all. And have to buy iLife if you want iPhoto or iMovie. for an adtional $79 bucks....

Icon 83 (3.5" Floppy) Now for a bit more useful drive icon, though not for long I suppose. I realized as I was doing this that I do not even own a 3.5" floppy drive on any of my 4 working computers. It seems that this drive format as well is not long for the world. Until then I s
Icon 82 (5" Floppy) Tonight we will start polishing off the rest of the Drive icons. I will also be doing some bonus drive type icons, but that will be in a few days. As for today we will do the one of the simplest icons, and yet one of the most useless. But it is still supported
yep. sorry about that.
Icon 81 (Search) Tonight we can finish off another lose end. The start menu is mostly done, however I seem to have skipped the Search icon. I always like to try and come up with something clever when doing these, but when it comes to Search, I never can. I almost always end up do
Icon 80 (Control Panel) After torturing myself trying to think of something new to do for the Control Panel icon, I have finally had a "Forest for the Trees" moment. The thing that was bugging me was that I had already used the checkbox overlay in the "Folder Options" icon
Icon 79 (iPod Folder) Tonight I am running behind, as seems to be my habit of late and I still have not come up with any clever ideas for the Control Panel folder. So I have decide
