Save them form fireworks to png or psd and use iconworkshop to complile them to ICO files, that should work fine, There might be esayer way but I dont have fireworks so That is all Icon think of. Good luck though,

If you make all of the defalts, if they are xp only you can cut down a bit. there is about 64 I think, I tend to make about 100 to 150 in a pack. But I am a big fan of over kill. As a role if you can runn it on your own system, and it replaces all the Icons you see, then you are good to go. You can always add more later.
