On the other hand, you're not going to find the best and brightest executives if you're paying them the same rate as low-end football players / baseball players or what many TV stars earn in a single episode... I guess that depends on their motivation. You're a successful CEO - wouldn't you enjoy the challenge of turning around a once-failing company? The prestige alone would guarantee a healthy salary for your next role. [/quo

You didn't instigate it. You have a perfectly valid point: Should society's values be reflected through their elected officials or should society's values be reflecgted thorugh the individual needs of that society? It's a great debate.

To be clear: I didn't plan on nuking LW. That was at her request. I had only exiled her. But she made a fuss about her posts being around because we might potentially make some piddly ad revenue so I took away that concern. I don't know if I'd describe myself as tolerant or not. I would say I'm selectively tolerant. I have almost endless tolerance for people having different points of view from me. But I have a very limited tolerance to taking personal (a

Since the ingame doens't just lagged but show me some weird textures, I gues its about something with the graphic card. Will their be some updates with the graphic cards supported by the game or do I need a new one ?
An ATI 9550 isn't j
Also, I would have to say that the "One Steam Future" is far from dark. First, even if they do start abusing their monopoly, it will either be with the consent of developers (splitting the profits with them) or without. And if its without, they'll simply create another downloadable platform that gives them fair compensation . As far as the customer's interest is concerned, if Steam starts overpricing games, people won't buy them.
Stardock has clearly det
Impulse is great and amazing. I like it much more than Steam, and the downloads on impulse are faster and the interface is much better easier to get updates. Here is the main problem: SINs is probably the best brand name game you got on there, followed by GalCiv and both are in "niche" markets. To gain more market share you're going to have to get A-list titles on or very near their release dates such as Fallout 3 or Red Alert 3 etc.

Mumble, you might actually try reading the book. The book includes studies of who donates blood, who volunteers time in nursing homes, animal rescue, domestic violence services, Katrina help, etc. The book also has studies on per capita giving to the Salvation Army in different states and locales.
Wow, so bitter and cynical! Sounds like you are in a really bad place in your life. I'm sorry. And since you're not surprised about democrats (a large, broad label that really means nothing, but ok), I have a question? Are all Republicans as bitter, hateful, and uncompassionate? Maybe instead of reading "Who Really Cares" you should something like Victor Frankls "Mans Search for Meaning." Take care, and I hope you f
The law of JU remains the same: Don't piss me off...if you are going to start attacking, insulting or demeaning me or our company (or helping those that do) then you're out of here. I didn't do any of that, I simply disagreed with you (since until now I didn't know that wasn't acceptable). As an aside it might be worth clarifying the 'don't piss me off' rule (and others) in the terms of service, since gal civ players are directe

When I write political blogs, I make it my business to be harsh about the poor and down trodden. If I seem like I don’t have a lot of compassion, that is probably because I don’t have a lot of compassion. I don’t really like humans in general. I like individuals, however, a lot. Maybe I’m just the end product of the secular agenda. Humans are merely another large mammal that is barely self aware is driven mostly on instincts. Where instincts don’t fill in the gap, most humans are just

For years, I’ve had a serious problem with air travel. I’d get severe vertigo when I’d travel. I’ve tried everything from Ginger to patches to decongestants. But at long last, I’ve found something that helps: Aspirin. Take 2 before the flight and the anti-inflammatory effect seems to keep the vertigo from happening. W00t.

I will certainly make sure they make it as easy as possible for people to remove their own blogs. In the meantime, I will happily do it for them if they just comment here.

The premise of Soviet Communism is tat no one should make a profit. Profit was a sign of greed in their minds. The problem with that thinking is the belief that wealth is a zero-sum game - it's not. Profit is a good thing for society. Profit should be the goal of all businesses. They should be working to maximize their profits at all time. People sometimes forget that purchases are voluntary. The only entity you are forced to give money to is the government which o

Sounds like some of you would have absolutely HATED the Sins of a Solar Empire beta. Demigod has been extremely straight forward compared to Sins of a Solar Empire. We were making major gameplay changes right into Gamma. Sins of a Solar Empire, as in, the game that won more game of the year awards this past year than any other game. :) Our beta process on our games is extremely rough. They are (as someone else put it) REAL betas. The Elemental beta will

Stardock games tend to be $39.95 retail (GalCiv, Sins, etc.). The Collector's Edition is $49.95 which is what beta testers get.

Guys, the design team hasn't even looked at it yet. I told them to just start pulling what little data they have in the DB and put it up. So hold up a bit on worrying about what the final version will be like. I almost didn't have it public at all. If you guys want, we can hide it all until it's done.
