Here is a answer from a question I posted: - "My understanding is that in order to win an Ascension Victory you have to "mine" 1000 Ascension points. Each turn that you have a starbase on a crystal you get 1 point. On medium maps there are 6 ascension crystals (don't know if this increases on larger maps or not), so having more starbases means collecting more points. 1000 turns if you only have 1 crystal, 500 if you have two, 333 for three, and so on." - Heres a possibility:<br

Is it not the same as other starbases......build a constructor and send it there? I've never actually built an 'Ascension' starbase before but I'm assuming it is treated the same way.

I will post my stuff for the power supply........I'm sorry, I know I said I would post it after work. My wife is 6 months pregnant with our first child (a boy....named Nicholas) and I have no free time at the moment at home. I actually have been posting at work.....its slow right now. Thanx for all help! Anybody out there play chess at all, online?
- Tech trading/whoring is too easily abused, particularly abusing minors -
I will say even with my limited exp. that this is true. Once, I was able to pay 248bc for stinger 3 missles even though I had not even researched ANYTHING along the missle tech line. Is 248 cheap for Missle 3......I sure thought it was. Note......I was giving that minor race 5bc every chance I got for like a year or two.
The first time one landed I chuckled for a second cuz there were only ten guys. I stopped laughing when they got an advantage of like 800 and killed a little more than half my military of 18,000.
That's priceless. LOL!

Yeah, I would play DL first then DA. Those to me kinda seem like the 'minor leagues' when compared to ToA. ToA is a totally different animal. Get used to the basic techs that all races have first. I've been playing ToA for a while now and I still haven't played with all the races or got used to all the race specific tech trees! But they are a blast!!!
i should warn you, however, that i have quite a magnificent liver
Hehehehe.......If your ever in San Antonio, drinks on the house
do you want this to be MV-compatible? if so, what race ID would you like me to build it under, and what hull size?
MV = no I favor the Krynn. Large is good. I have tried several times to make the Yamato or the Andromeda from Star Blazers but............no dice. I totaly suck at the ship builder
Zero Year Win https://forums.galciv2.com/300853 Basically, you snuff out the AI before it gets it's legs (usually 13 turns into the game, no earlier for MV games or be flagged as a cheat). That said, it really doesn't matter what setting the AI is on, since it never gets up and running w/in that time.
Wow..........
Yes. As GW said above, they seem to meld into one lump.
I most likely haven't noticed because of the level of difficulty I have played on. When I go to the trade screen I always have more techs then the other races/ I started to play the game on cakewalk and have played at least 4-5 games with different races before moving to the next level. Right now I am on my last game before I move to 'Tough' (dont laugh). Is it true that the 'Tough' level is the la
There are two perfect examples for keeping tech trading off.
So you think having it on give advantages to certian races? Man, I will have a tough time turning it off. I love trading for techs. Must have techs. Need all techs. Especially race specific techs
The Thalans no longer have the slow start due to lacking factory/lab buildings.
Ok I get that, but doesn't somebody still have to trade it to them to get past the slow start?<br
Lessons learned here:
I get it now. thanx. I'm not going to go for it though, it really seems like a lot more work then any of the other ways to win. Besides, I really like exterminating much better
I suppose there's a corresponding strategy of trying to ensure an enemy has and uses improvement techs that you want to see on your new conquests if you play with trading on.
Yup. I do that. Especially when a race is is almost defeated. I'll trade to them Banks or something else economical, back off them and wait for a bit while I do other stuff. Then either conquer or influence flip them and BOOM........instant money world!

I am playing a game where I have turned the Acsension victory on for the first time. A message box at the top left saying Drath victory in 999 turns……..ok, no big deal, I get that. How many crystals do you need to have a starbase on? When I looked around the only race that

Every game I have ever played I have had the tech trading on. I’ve noticed that a lot of people play with it off. I was wondering if someone who has played it both ways would tell me how the dynamics, strategy, style…etc of the game change when it is off.
Here is Xrati's Mega Event fleet images.
Holy Crap Batman! That is just........WRONG!!!!!!! I see the liking of Federation ships on those screen shot. I will pick up the bar tab for an entire weekend to anybody who can build me the 'Yamato' from Star Blazers.
The 4850 is probably the best price/performance ratio (after the 4870), but the 8800gt's have dropped down in price since the latest series of cards were released.
Which one of the ones you mentioned is better? The price really doesn't matter. A better question. Which video card out there is the best right now and compatible with most games, operating systems, DirectX 10, etc. I think I want that one!
