To the_Monk: That's a nice fix that you shared right there bud!
cplair, Just glad to be able to help! That particular fix is the very first thing I try whenever I encounter a removable drive that "used to" show up and now doesn't show or grab a drive-letter. Hasn't failed me yet in the years I've been doing it...hehe

Ourobourous, Are you using the same email to register the serial numbers as you used when you purchased the software? Please contact with registration-related issues.
Yes, that is the intention. (as far as I know...) EDIT: beaten to the "draw" again huh Anny? [e digicons];P[/e]
1. Making the assumption (at this point) that it's not hardware failure..... 2. Something I've experienced in the many years I've been doing what I've been doing is; sometimes the "mounted devices" in your registry gets "buggered" WARNING: EDITING ONE'S REGISTRY IS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY! YOU CAN CAUSE SERIOUS SYSTEM INSTABILITY IF YOU DO THE WRONG THING IN THE REGISTRY! Now......with that warning out of the wa
Edit: Monk, nice avatar
Thanks, my son made it for me. He actually made a whole bunch (using MS Expression Design studio) some with hand-to-hand combat weapons and others with guns. I think he intends to make an animated short-film with them [some day!].....(he's great at procrastinating...hence the "some day"......hehe)
amthermux, Please make sure you're not running any MODS when you're troubleshooting this issue as crashing due to MODS being installed/enabled is the responsibility of the MOD creator to troubleshoot. If you have saves and replays of the game crashing (un-modded) I believe you can let the DEV's at know and they'll tell where to send them. thanks, the Monk
Did you happen to install any video codecs since "the other day"? I help out in several flight sim communities as well, and one issue that has plagued those communities is intro-movie crashes/lock-ups/black-screens. Many of the problems have been traced back to users having installed a video codec called ddfshow (which comes with many video codec packs including software like DivX etc.) Once the offending codec was removed those game installs resumed
Did you attempt to install it with administrator credentials? Please un-install it. Visit ( www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe ) for the latest full-install Make sure all of your AV and other anti-malware software is disabled before installing and then run the setup file as an admin account. Please also make sure you've got up-to-date IE 7 and .NET installations (as both a
Entrenchment is the first of a couple "micro-expansions" and is not free! Expansions are not patches, there is a significant difference. Impulse is a store (among many other things) so you can buy, download and then update your software in one convenient location. thanks, the Monk
Also try updating your game to a newer version. The AI has received updates since retail game release version 1.0. Visit ( www.impulsedriven.com ) and download/install IMPULSE (stardock's new digital distribution system), register your game and download game version 1.05 (the latest non-beta). thanks, the Monk
Well yes, you will need a valid "registration" in order to update. Please contact via email for help with account/registration issues (please note: support is off on weekends)
You wouldn't have the demo installed would you? If so, please uninstall the demo completely before you attempt to install the full game.
Is your Windows Installer at the latest version?
That's one of the problems with notebooks. Because they're so proprietary the drivers are left up to the individual notebook manufacturer to update (some of which rarely do in fact update them). Especially if this was happening in Spore as well, you should maybe complain on the Toshiba website to get them to update their drivers for the soundcard with a fix? There are settings for SINS which you can change within the user.setting file (which are not reflec
the game files actually need more than 500 mb in order to de-compress during install. Having less than a few GB free on your HD (I'm assuming this is also your OS harddrive) is generally speaking a bad idea anyway (as it won't allow windows to increase your pagefile size as necessary). Delete more stuff!! :)
If you're having trouble changing your email account please contact (please be advised they're off on weekends) US-primetime is when most of the people are online. Since the max players per game is 10, I don't see how anyone would need more than 100 players online at any one given moment. Besides, SINS is a game that most people play on their own, with a couple of friends or on LAN. Your best bet would be
Why can't you update? You need to install IMPULSE ( www.impulsedriven.com ) in order to update your game "Device Drivers" are software installed/loaded which allow your OS to interact (use) said hardware. They (especially video cards) receive regular updates by the hardware manufacturers and need to be kept up-to-date in order to make sure things keep working well. Again, make sure your game is running at
1. You can't just believe all of your drivers are up-to-date.....how can you expect something (which may require an update) to run if you don't apply the needed updates??? 2. Again....it's unclear whether in your tries of "updating and some other crap" what game version you are currently running etc. Kind of hard to help someone with no useful information to go on...[e digicons][/e]
non beta is version 1.05 and you need to uncheck "show pre-release versions" after clicking the BLUE ORB!
As has been pointed out in numerous threads.... "Minidump" is the term for a generic crash. This crash can be brought on by any number of things, so in an effort to make sure you're not trying to troubleshoot a problem that may have been fixed in a game update or newer driver etc. please make sure of the following: Make sure you're running at least version 1.05 (at the main menu in-game check the bottom right corner of the screen for your
Kouin Ookami, here are the links to the MS .NET redistributable (version 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0) in order to install .NET in case it won't install/update via windows update.
It is known that there are instances where the .NET framework refuses to update itself correctly and in many of those instances it doesn't provide any sort of error to that effect. The way I've gotten around the issue of .NET installation/updating issues on systems where i
you're welcome, glad to help! :)
Have you made sure you have the latest driver for your video card installed? Keep in mind, because it's a notebook video card (and therefore proprietary to the notebook manufacturer) Nvidia may not have updates for your driver and you'll need to look for updates on the DELL site.
I'm still not convinced that the problem isn't (at least in part) related to driver corruption. ChaoticMagician, If you don't mind, I would suggest doing the following: 1. Navigate to the "Control Panel", "System" and "Device Manager". Once there "uninstall" your display adapter (video card) 2. Reboot the machine but go into "Safe Mode". Once in safe mode, go to "Add Remove
