Or just interrupt it... sometimes early game I even mess around with rooks and run in, and run from hammer slams... then when I hit level 5, BAM! Good luck taking him down. :) With maybe a friend or more likely two. Depending on the build, he will also have hamm

At the end of the day, it still comes down to this: There are a few types of players 1) The noob - you can try to order them around, but as someone stated, they are still struggling with just the control of their demigod. Chances are, they will not even realize the chat - as i mentioned earlier, its quite easy to miss, esp. on some maps - and even if they do, unless you deliberately talk in a way thats free of TLAs and demigod terminology, then they might just not understand w
Cataract is the biggest 'victim' of this tactic. I've actually seen a level Demigod spend their starting cash on a Sigil of Vitality, a Teleport Scroll, and a Capture Lock item... run in with sigil, capture, lock, teleport out. Can't say I think it was the most effective use of your starting 1k, but it was certainly a surprise!
Seriously? I would be jumpin up and down from joy... instead
If a server split occurs the game is basically over. Not only can you not be sure you're in the "real" game, but it probably won't count for anything but a loss on your record anyways.
Actually, im fairly certain that it is the original host who ends up being the real game. (The one who created the game) So basically if you are playing with the one who created the game, your win might still count a
You realize that what you expect does simply not work. People do not like to take orders, they like to go after their own selfish mind. You have to convince them it is in their own interest that they do follow you and unless you have a privileged position where you can afford to just boss people around without caring about how they might judge you, you also have to take care not to offend anyone in the process. You can lead through force or respect. Having both might come

To quote something i did see here earlier: "Rock needs to be nerfed, paper is fine" - scissors. So you did find UB to be more powerful than Rook? I dare to say that you didnt play Rook the way it is meant to be played. There is no way UB causes a rook any trouble, that is.. inside his little garden of towers. They will spit and then run away quite fast as the towers will eat them. If they decide the chase, you just hammer slam. Hammer slam is weak? 1700 AoE damage is w
Those people who argue for quitting forget to add one little detail: that is the team. I'm fine with quitters, if they discuss their decision with their team and follow the will of the majority. So if in a 3v3, 2 out of 3 are convinced they are losing, they should quit. It 2 out of 3 would want to continue the fight, then the third one owes them to stay and fight. Its really that simple. Actually, when i say they should quit, well.. they dont necessarily have to. see the rest of
Sedna is fine as she is. Do not try to fix that, which isnt broken. Also to people who compare spirits of oak to sedna. Yes, spirits give the oak bonuses. Guess what, those bonuses come from skills. Sedna yetis do not give sedna bonuses. Her skills do however and some might argue, that they are at least as good as the ones oak has. So stop comparing the oak spirits to the sedna yetis, because balance is not just about one type of minion, but about the whole demigod as
Okay, so here it is: 1) This is a team game. Unless you are playing 1on1, noone cares how an UB eats up any demigod. You just do not fight an UB in meelee alone, unless you have backup on the way and you staying there is part of the plan. 2) HP stacking goes both ways, so if he can get 7k, then you can get that too. Theres no way he can kill you if you have 7k HP and do not take stupid risks. Sure, if he gets his dirty pawn on an ashkandor, slayer's wraps, mage slayer combo, t

Well, oaks get insane bonuses to damage from spirits. I think i had close to 450 damage once without any damage gear. Stack some HP, add the minions and you will be laughing when the UB spits on you, as you will heal faster than he damages you, not to mention the priests who just instaheal whatever damage the spit did. Ooze is nice, but by the time it could get rid of the minions (hp build usually gives the minions quite a few extra hp as well), the UB is either dead or has to run. Su
Well, here is my two cents: " While I do agree that people often drop games before they are lost, you are being absolutely ridiculous if you insist that players remain in the game to the bitter end. Have you seen pro Starcraft games? " The term ragequit is usually used when someone gets upset over the performance of his team, or his inability to deal with the enemy and quits due to anger. Noone said that people should ALWAYS stay until the bitter end
I don't think it would be a bad idea if rage quitters actually LOST favor points on top of the fact that they don't get the favor point rewards at the end of the game. Halo 3 does this sort of thing on xbox live. If you win a game, you earn an experience point. If you lose a game, you earn nothing. if you LEAVE a game before its over, you actually will LOSE a point. I think a minor penalty like that would help deal with rage qu
Two options actually, "end game/give up" and "end game/draw" The first option should be choosen by all (human) players on one side to take effect and results in an immediate end of the game with the other side declared victorious. The second option should be choosen by the majority of all human players in the game and should simply end the game in a draw with no stats or favor points recorded. Also consider the AI always voting yes for both and we have a rath
Its funny how everyone keeps picking those plastic toys from star trek and other sci-fi movies. Take a look at an imperial star destroyer, or even a super star destroyer and you will get an idea of how a Bismarck or a Yamato of the space should look like. :) I do find that SSD to be a little flawed :) after all.. a single a-wing was enough to get rid of it, once it has lost its shields. Sure they've never heard about redundancy as far as CnC goes. :
This so much reminds me to the counter-strike days of old. 3 head shots in a row, and the whole server was crying cheater. Not one of them stopped to think about how ridiculous they sound. Sure .. CS had lots of cheaters as well, but the big majorty of these 'cheating' cases were simple people being owned by more skilled players. The comment of the OP about how he has this many games under his belt and how he rarely lost any games tells me, that this might indeed be&
So: gold, creeps, cap locks, and harass. The golden rules for the losing team.
That all gives you a chance of a comeback, if the opponent refuses to do the same even after they notice you doing it. If they start out using caps and beat the living sh*t outta you that way, then theres just no way you will turn the game around. In other words: turn a game around? definitely possible.. as long as you are bette
You are comparing a DoT ability to an instant damage ability, that also has greater range. spit might deal more damage, but spit you can counter with half a dozen different methods / items. The fireball, once it hits you is there.. and the damage is done. In other words: 3 TBs hitting you with 3 fireballs, you are toast. 3 UBs spitting at you and you just go into mist form, use shield, use an item or do any of the other debuff methods to clear the spits. Thats a freakin huge diff
Just a tip, but if by any chance he had girdle of giants, he could have been feeding off your minions and nearby creeps happily, while still pounding away at you (100% cleave chance? i do find it extremely powerful with the UB and life stealing) From what you are saying, i assume this was late game, so having such an item is pretty much a possibility. Me myself, i havent noticed draining health from enemies that are shielded, then again.. those shield do not last too long
I think the problem lies in the ridiculously OP rewards given for killing a demigod. You get gold (500+level*100) and XP (not sure how much, but i guess its proportional to the gold gain), and the opponent gets benched for 20-30 seconds. Even worse, if someone just so much as coughs at the victim, they also get half the gold reward. He gets no gold during that time and not XP, while you also keep your regular income and can farm further XP from creeps. More gold means
Maybe its just me, but i rather waste half an hour fighting the AI, than to quit.. that is.. as long as there are humans in the game. If im the only one left, i dont usually make an issue out of it. There should be a give up option, and quitters should by default be considered to have given up. This way a game could simply end when all players quit on one side, or the last player left could just decide to give up if it isnt going nowhere.
Solution, plain and simple: Ranking system + Score penalty for quitting (which can only be negated if the same game is played again with the same people to a proper ending - to support save/load games) As for quitting when you are losing. I realize some people thing their time is spent better playing a new game while their opponents are mopping up. Hell.. in that case, surrender and leave.. i hate mopping up and would gladly skip it, if the opponent would decide to surrender.<br
