First off,i think multiple towers would be best, you can't figure out how many you need, but really if the enemy has even 1 tower of their own,you won't ever break the colony. Actually, if your playing advent, they have a tech that lets you see all hostile culture on the map, growing and receding, and further research of culture will give you vision on anything your culture touches(like an enemy colony or pirate base for example)
Entaru
TEC - Kol #1, Sova #2, Dunov #9...lol Advent - To be honest, all of them besides the revelations battlecruiser are #1 on my list, they all rock in their own way(And even more when together) Vasari - Antorak,Evacuator and Devastator are all #1, haven't tried the other 2.
Well, this is what the Antorak Marauder is for,if i recall correctly(only cap i use as vasari is the evacuator) it can speed other ships into phase faster with one of it's abilities, so they could maintain damage, buffer and agility all together.
The hell? why did you post this same thread over 10 times? Never seen this before, but crysis rules(Sorry if i'm no help =p)
If inno needs a partner,i'd be more then glad to help him,i've played him twice before(once as ally and once as opponent) This is Tarin btw Prince =) Oh yeah,my schedule isn't exactly stable, but come friday/saturday/sunday i'm fairly positive that i can find time.
Lol yeah i had that happen to me aswell, i don't really care much thought. Since i keep all guns & structures close to the planet itself it doesn't change anything to me and i never notice if it's any bigger or smaller. But yeah that's weird lol. I also had a planet with the -20% structure build rate and then a 20% boost to structure build rate.
Never quite seen that myself, but if i was to do it,i would have a tec economist feed me all his resources so i could build a cap ship rush, i suppose it's feasible, just not very easy to accomplish. They probably practiced this,or where in the same room.
You have to research the ability to use Wormholes(Note that it isn't the same as the one that allows you to phase between stars) then move your ships to the center of the wormhole, and they should appear at the other end.
They don't 'instantly' re-appear at the other planet(like when you use a wormhole) They still phase, but instead of having to phase through every planet to get to the destination, they can just make 1 long phase directly to the planet you told them to go to.
You didn';t mention what times/timezone you play in,but i'm on daily and up for a game....also am the same as you. In-game name is Tarin
To be honest, static defenses just don't cut it with lrm's, the issue isn't that they do too much damage,it's just that when your facing 100 frigates, and you take them out 1 at a time,it'l take for freaking ever....and eventually you'll break. Anyways,if you must build static defenses,4 hangars all with fighters, and as many repair bays around em as you can fit. micro the fighters so the ydon't all attack a separate target, and you should bring a considerable number down.
Lol? Illuminators do not blow, their much better then lrm's. As for capitals....The Revelations has the highest base damage if i recall correctly, alhought radiance and mothership are still the best. As for the guardian...it's not steep....if your playing advent you w ant your shields at their best, and they only requires 3 labs, well worth every penny. Anyways onto the maps... Small map 1 vs 1.... 4 disciples, a mothership, and 2 temple of harmony so y
From what i've heard,it's currently impossible to get your culture higher then 50% so,you won't be getting that one anytime soon. As for the artifacts....i suggest a multiplayer game with as many planets/stars as possible,it may just be me....but in 1 multiplayer game,i found all 9 of the artifacts in just 11 of the planets(this after days of playing single player games looking for them)
2 words. Returning Armada
It's very situational, if i've properly scouted him,and see an opening then yeah, i would likely attack him, but then again....if it's mid-game then the opponent should easily handle the pirates, and then just move on to me, so i typically use them only early on when it makes a big difference. And no,i don't mind getting pirates put on me,put 1 capital ship in the direction their ocming from, and watch it level up.
I do like the fact that the engine will let computer commanded forces elect to run to fight another day."Let"? What is this "let" you speak of? I've never seen the AI do anything *BUT* run away.
Unfortunately i have to agree, was playing a 3 vs 3 hard AI's,and in the end they each had a 150 man frigate fleet alongside 5-8 capitals, and as soon as 1 or 2 capitals would go down, they would run and i'd just destroy the colony. The game ended with the 3 ai's having around 20 c
Don't know if i phrased that right,so let me try again. I think that The ai will look around, and see your homeworld and where it is,then assuming there's more then one option,it'l take the shortest one,and attack whichever of your colonies it happens upon first, get it? At least, this is what i notice happening to me.
Hmm, i wouldn't know then, i suppose that would be the logical thing, but the AI isn't always doing the logical thing. Alternatively, they might just take the route that's the shortest to reach your homeworld.
Pirates will go after whichever colony of yours is closest to their colony, doesn't particularly matter what colony type it is(planet, roid or dead roid) They do, however always go after trade ships and trade ports, and ignore all else until those are gone. by the way, wether on accident or on purpose, you made this same thread twice.
I'l be glad to sign it,as long as they also make a suggestions forum,so that ideas aren't just posted all over the place.(or if there is one, please make it easier to find)
Look, if you let a Vasari rival get to RA, then really, it's your fault and you deserve to lose. Ok, that is probably oversimplifying things but... no, really, you deserve to lose

have you seen the size of some of the large/huge maps? When a vasari player is nestled between 2 or 3 allies in his system he's free to fast tech to dark armada within an hourI played a 5v5 last night as Vasari, I took the 2 asteroids and 2 planets next to me, and fast teched to phase stabilizers/D
I personally love to use Vasari just for the phase stabilizers and dark armada, but i only bother to use it on maps where i have ally support and/or multiple stars to hide in while i tech up,as you said RA is a huge investment, and if someone knew how to scout efficiently, they'd notice you spamming viturska's labs and phase stabilizers and would stop you,if you power rush to RA,as i often do...my only defense is your patience and lack of an ability to effectively scout. Anyways,if you
Depends on ammount and how hard the enemies are,i don't like going more then 3 phase jumps away from my home world at beggining of the game, not only will it be harder to defend, but because your so far...your allegiance, and thus your income will be lower there. Typically,i colonize 4-6 planets(number depends on game settings, and wether or not these are roids or actual planets),but never far enough that your within 1 or 2 phase jumps from the enemy.
I'm more then happy to be the 'experienced' player, althought i'm no pro....but i've won my fair share of games. I'm on most of the days, between 8-11 mst(you figure out what time that is whereever you live) and contact me ingame or here.
Ok then, let's get started,i'l help to the best of my knowledge.... Battleship - Devastator Power surge - Increases damage output for a short while,i look to use this whenever i'm trying to shoot down a capital as fast as possible. Jam Weapons - Yeah, jams weapons, good to have when you throw your capital into a giant fleet, but i honestly see no real effects from this. Disruptive strikes - Can't recall what this even does Volitile Nanites - I think you
