Adding heirs makes the game feel more epic. It's like a Crusader Kings type of feel and actually makes each game feel like a story. King Fart dies leaving his own child, Princess Butt as the new leader... she vows revenge! Otherwise, having the whole dynasty mechanic just feels tacked on and useless. Heck why not explore the idea of being able to let your kids care for a city or two or more and they become the "automatic governor" this game needs when you have a huge empire. It would
September 5, 2010 12:30:11 AM I finished reading the book today. Some parts could have been worded better, but overall I enjoyed the story. I liked it enough that if he writes a sequel I'll be getting it.
I agree. Same with making a game, movie, or anything really. If you haven't made one yourself you have no right to comment or criticize it!
I don't get what confuses people so much about the financial situation here. The gaming division isn't producing enough revenue to sustain another independent team, and potentially not enough to sustain the current size of the Elemental team. Regardless of this, Brad will invest profits from the other divisions to continue to keep enough people in the gaming division to develop and improve upon Elemental. He won't, however, throw goo
It's really, really bad. No offense.
I believe in equal opportunity so men have to have plate thongs and nipple tassles too.
It's still bullshit how you're getting piled on by so many gaming sites though while Sega and CA was allowed to get away with highway robbery regarding Empire: Total War.
Real world consequences are tough, especially now. Taking responsibility for "your disasterous judgement" is rather valiant of you, but I think that much of the criticism is overblown. I have been playing the game and really enjoying it for what it is. When I see posts like Mtrixis' UI feedback thread https://forums.stardock.com/393693 it illuminates what the game could be... which is quite a

So some people get laid off.
FYI i've learned that te people who usually say "This is how business works" are the first ones that don't know how to run a business and comment on it to others while enjoying their plush comfortable first world privileged lives.
Really? Hm. Let's take apart your logic, Soliddoucheboy. I downloaded the game. Paid money for it. I then realized it wasn't anywhere near playable. Knowing that this would hurt the company's bottom line (which affects real human beings) I then took out my credit card and bought the LE to send money to the company - i.e. gave money. You: bought the game, feel offended, post shit comments
No Solidsmooky, people respond because you are clearly an asshole. To make light of someone's firing and taking a potshot at Brad who has just admitted it was his responsibility is just immature as hell. You're a douche masquerading as a human being.
See? Blind rabid fanboys who tell you they'll buy anything you put out even if its a dump in a box hurt your business. Then they get mad when you reveal the truth about them.
On Friday it was over? It doesn't even matter, it's pretty lame and everyone is still kissing Stardock's ass when these people have families to take care of during a recession. Brad, the reason why Elemental failed was because you listened to fanboys like the person that just responded to me, the people in this thread and all over these forums that kiss your ass at everything you do right or wrong. Businesses need the "tough-love" type of person that tells it to them st
Wow, firing some of your employees while you're on vacation. Haha, thats cold as hell, man.
Please please please have each civ/nation be a lot more different from one another than they currently are. It's fantasy. You should go hog wild with orcs, orgres, trolls, wargs.. make new things!!! Also there is a problem with how things are presented. Right now the world visually is really bland and barren.. I know its supposed to be a bit desolate but what you have right now translates to boring. It's weird to build cities because I feel like i always have to have a food tile nearb

My 2nd game I was the lone kingdom against 5 empires and owned them on the most difficult setting. Don`t worry, when Brad comes from vacation, he will make some powerful AI, that you will be screaming: "How the hell can i unpatch this game!".
I'll believe it when I see it.
How about making the world less barren and dull? Some more exciting magic? Make not taking every magic school mean something. Force magic specialization. Make the different civs actually different instead of good "White people" and bad "dark people"
Yeah, someone used a spell on me too. I was shocked. I think instead of using end turn all of the time to make the units come to me to wack them i'll only use that method some of the time now!
http://www.scribd.com/doc/36832877/Debug-Elemental I was having a battle with Relias in a town and I used a spell with my fire elemental. Then I used a mana stone or whatever they're called to get my mana back for that unit and it crashed.
They just released 1.07... so there you go...
Who is tom francis and why should I care about his opinion? Where's Dan Stapleton or Desslock? The game has been released far, far too early And so was your review. That’s the game Stardock put in the box, relying on a day-one patch to get it to an acceptable state. But the game’s requirements don’t include an internet connection to play, and even if they did, the optimistically named ‘day 0&rsq
I agree with this, as it stands now you might as well pick all of the spellbooks. If you want to make strategy diverse and this game diverse then do something like this and give each magic school attributes.. like maybe fire magic has a lot of direct damage and ice is defensive.. things like that
