CobraA1. When I say "normal citizens", I mean people who do not invest in anything. Then there are the people who do invest. Now, the problem today is that in the last 20 years, the normal american citizen has started spending all the money that they earn, and yes in many cases they go into a lot of debt. But debt is not the biggest problem here. The biggest problem is that many investors today are investing their money based on how much their investment will gain in value. An
The US's debt as a % of its GDP is less than most European nations or Japan. It's all relative. Technically speaking, the US is still currently on a relative ascension relative to the G7 average when one looks at economic and military might. China, Japan, etc. are very very far behind economically and of course militarily they're not even on the charts. All this hubris one way or the other about nation states is pretty baffling to me to be honest. Where one was born was a m
Last I heard there were close to 125,000 active accounts, usually with about 30,000 players logged at once during weekdays, about 35,000 during weekends To really experience all EVE has to offer, i say you need to spend at least 2 years, because of the time it takes to train the advance skills, about 10 months to really learn all the advanced and finer details (and poorly documented, sadly) of the features of the game. If you want to get involved in politics, i say about 1 yea
I do agree with Eddison as well, it sucks that it doesn't look realistic b'cuz of no ship movement to actually simulate what a naval engagement would look like in a '0' gravity enviroment. One game that i've tried that does do this automatically upon engagment is EVE online.
LOL, really that made me laugh hard. espcially that part about eve. People, really, don't use the word "realistic" while talking about a space strategy game, it just makes us all look like do

Why do ships move? To engage and destroy the enemy. Why do they have to move? Because the enemy is over there, and they are over here. Why would the ships start turning or moving at all once the enemy is in range? To bring their most and best weapons to bear on the enemy. OK, then, once the enemy is in range, their best weapons are hammering away at the enemy, why would they have to move at all? They don't need to at all. Presently, navies move constantly bec
Also the thing about the Japense trying to surrneder before the bomb is full of it. It took TWO bombs to make them surrender, kind of tells you something.
So many arguments over those facts. One argument that I've heard (but not here) was that yes, SOME Japanese officials had talked about surrendering before the bombs were dropped (the other part wanted to fight), but it was only after the bombs that the ENTIRE Japanese goverment choosed to surrender.
If I remember correctly the Russians proved quite well that if you throw enough bodies at somebody whether there more advanced than you or not that in the end it doesn't really matter. and
LOL thats true, although they were helped a lot by the weather. I wonder how many more bodies would it have taken if the weather hadnt helped? And what if the enemy had also thrown a lot of bodies against the Russians, would we still be counting the piled bodies? And the terror
But... what you can't do in Eve, apparently, is say the F word, or call a girl fat
There in lies the problem, while I must accept you did nothing except that which is quoted, you might have filled up the chat window of that other player with the F word. Still, I think the blurred line here are "Personal" attacks. Ganking a newbie in his noob ship is you attacking him In Game. Saying he is a fat brat whos mother sold him for money is a Personal attack. One is agai

I, as a gamer, couldn't care less how many copies of the game have been sold. What I want is for the game to be fun and stable. And if it's a multiplayer game, that it has other people online and Lag to be minimum. Why do some people use that number in order to justify if its a good

The game works perfectly for me. Make sure your computer meets the game's requirements and that you have all the latest drivers and updates. Also service your hard drive (defrag/dskcheck) and clean your computer case, dust can hamper the computer performance. Have you contacted customer support? You could provide some specs about your computer here and describe the problem you are having in order to receive help. Maybe it is you who must find the solution. Think about it.
LOL, the level of ignorance in this thread is astounding. Besides, there already another thread going with this kind of discussion.
Yes, the game needs a way to use the abilities of dozens of different ships in a easier/faster way. About strikecrafts, I say just assing prioritys, go after bombers or fighters first, for example. But avoid flak frigates? That might not be a good idea at all. As in many cases the flaks frigs will be very close to the other frigs and cruisers. Thus if fighters/bombers are set to avoid the flaks' firing range, they might just fly around the enemy fleet, never moving in to attack, simply

I don't recall the term "Superpower" ever being truly used to describe a country before WW2. And initially, the two superpowers were the first two countries to develop nuclear weapons. Total War......not a good idea when you don't want to anger a dozen other nations, beside the one you are fighting. Difficult for the US to have any allies in the middle east if it started decimating the population of the countries they invaded. Besides, looking at it from an historical and localized view, the Middle East, since the times of the Romans, have never truly being united under one goverment/leader. The people there, historycally, are not easily controlled by any foreigners.
It depends on only one thing: If we move to a Democratic leadership, then yes, at least for quite a long while the U.S. will remain a Superpower. If we, however, continue down the path of the Warpublicans, the rest of the world will simply put us down- heck, they'll HAVE to- and we'll no longer have any prestige, control or respect. The answer to your question is directly related to if you vote for "more of the same/right" or "back on the correct path/left" in November.Eventually, once we
AJackal, interesting post. Its truth that our world will not be able to complety subtitute oil as the main source of energy, but it can be greatly reduced with the aforementioned alternatives. A very good option I've heard around a few times is to make each house in the US have solar panels and/or wind turbines. The aim would not be to make the house draw all electricy from the wind and sun, but rather to them being a supplement to the power from the normal utilities. And also, those sy
