How about a points ranking system, each game you win, you get 3 points, and if you lose 1 point. This means that people would like to improve on thier profile, by winning more points to climb the ladder.
This is almost plausible. I say almost because I wonder how it would flesh out because some players with relatively high game counts suck (like me) and won't necessarily reflect comparable skill levels with their player counts due to the older accounts that had a dispropor

Most veteran players will help you if you can take direction well, and keep a good attitude.
You dont learn anything from winning games, only from losing do we have the opportunity to learn from our mistakes. I welcome all smurfs, no better teachers.
Finally, a voice of clarity! This guy get the double ding ding dong Karma prize! Btw, Sunny boy, the passive-aggressive recovery center called and said you weren't accepted for being too straight forward but not really saying anything that is ever remotely meaningful. They did say to try again if
Let's do it to it! Been here all along, and so have Dirty (WHiP), Fries, and a many other die hards. Thing is though, mains or not, I have softened my stance on smurf tolerance as there are still valid reasons that certain players don't want to play with a target on their back which I can empathize with, but only as long as its for that reason, and not to stack a team. If they are reputable and play balanced team games, disclosing they're a smurf and leaving it at th
It isn't emotional in the slightest.
Really?Hows that working out for you?
They are nice but seldom used unless its a multi star map or the game drags on longer than most.
That's not true. Pacts are a priority once map placement and early position perimeters are established. They take a while to develop, but they can be huge depending on the race you align with, and the supply pact for TEC is silly good.
And what exactly do you think
If someone starts out in a suicide spot, they could get gangbanged before they can receive any feed.
Same goes for the attackers, they can't get feed early either, and a competent "Entrencher" can perform the refugee flight, or turtle same as Entrenchment, but from my experience the increased speed allows a more contiguous flow in order to facilitate either. But you are right about the map placement, but this goes for any version, random map phucking can adversely determine the
It's the vitriol and vile of cheese-dicks who stomp lesser players and beat their chest in vituperative nonsense that reserve themselves a special place in Hades. It's the guys who have a good attitude and helping spirit that smooth the path for fun-seekers. Which are you?
that decresed playerbase even more
That, along with other things. Who knows what all contributed, but the fact is that the multiplayer community has undergone a lot of player churn recently, and although it take longer to get games, the new players seem to have a refreshing enthusiasm. Kind of nice to see actually.
Anyway, all new players probably have Trinity and will not be amused by idiots demanding they downgrade their game because they hate change, so good look with your Diplomacy boycott.
I was talking to some noobies in the lobby and they were like, "...why would they not just upgrade the entire game with Diplomacy? Why even leave an option to play Entrenchment?" The same questions I asked when vanilla went to Entrenchment. The point, however, is that saying Dipl
Yes there is a steady influx of new players. This has been going on for a while. It's kinda cool in that you can tell the ones that appreciate suggestions are new, and the ones that tell you to save your breath are smurfs (or just pricks). Yeah, at times Whip has sounded like chicken little with the diplomacy sky is falling routine, but he vacillates back and forth at least.
6pm to 10pm USA time
That's when you play? or that's when it's most active?
A bunch of the pros also had hissy fits over smurfing and said they were going to stop playing and moved on to other games (or they are now smurfing themselves).
The funny thing is; it seems like there are more newer people playing now. Any diehards like me are still playing & Diplomacy is by far the best version.
Get on diplomacy evenings after 9PM CST.
Get a free game like Hakzor. It's a warez pirate game where you d/l it and get a keystroke logger to put on your own box. You don't even know where it is, then you have to discover where, and then you get to guess how much of your identity was stolen. You';; like it!
Diplomacy is still active after 9PM CST. Not as active as Entrench used to be, but it is steady and getting better with lots of Trinity noobs. Get on then and shout out benny. Be glad to get some games going with you.
Welcome! Echoing the comments about playing single player against the ai's, it is highly recommended. To get a feel for the mechanics and familiarize yourself with different unit abilities is very important prior to attempting multiplayer games. These don't have to be long multi-star games, but it's helpful to play against, and as, the different races. This can take more than a couple of games, but when you find a race that you prefer to play as, you can focus on that
Make sure you have latest version of game.
Doh! Had a mini-dump last night after the game ended and was watching the replay. I was almost 3/4 the way through and was backing off 8X viewing when it happened. At least it wasn't during a game. [e digicons]:maybe:[/e]
