Arg. I just noticed one more thing about this. I think someone above *may* have mentioned this already: The AI will not sue for peace in a realistic fashion now as well because it has an inflated idea of its own military might. It makes the AI very vulnerable to the gang-up part of the other AI's too and just cranky. Was this the intention of the Ai designer? I can't believe it is so- this seems like a leftover piece from GC1 when ships

Imagine three civs A, B and C which all have a military rating of 100, but because of the different approaches (ship sizes, logistics, weapons, shields...) A could beat B, B could beat C while C is superior to A - it's not possible to calculate some absolut military power ratings. Without making the 'military power' graph and the calculations behind it endlessly compl

AI on Intelligent: The formula the game uses to calculate Military Power is... um... well, really bad. Really really really bad. And this may have an effect on the AI that is also... really really really BAD. I mean the AI is GOOD, but the effect this will have on it seems like it could really screw it up! In my second game I have been fearing the Arceans who rate about 4x-5x my military power on the graph. But I wa

'Cause I ordered direct from SD. I want them to get ALL my cash- they deserve it, especially after the GC1 debacle with the publishers... So I thought why the heck not try to d/l it through that little straw and see if it's possible- it was! Playing it now with the multimedie d/l too. FUN FUN! Gotta go to school for a few hours then back

I wouldn't worry about it. When GC1 shipped, being the cheesemaster I am, I found tons of ways to dog the AI into oblivion within a few days. In fact, if I recall correctly, Brad got a little upset at me for then pestering him to improve certain key problems with the AI. Thing is Brad is good, but he's one persepctive on tactics and strategy. His is not the way of cheese. I don't *think* mine is... I just play to win sometimes- and when

The single biggest draw to me (originally) in GalCiv was that you could potentially lose power of your empire and suffer penalties if you didn't remain "elected" in the advanced form of governements. I specifically remember the "senate" screen being the screen that finally sold me on the game... I just thought that it was too cool a feature. The politicla parties thing was also VERY COOL! I wanted some of that, and, when I got the game: It was a cool thin
