Hi, I opened up Impulse and checked to see if there were any new Demigod updates and there was. I tried finding out which update version it was, but couldn't find that information via any of the contextual menus. History shows patch notes, but not the patch version as far as I could tell. More info takes me to the game page within the Impulsedriven store. After the update is complete I can check the version stamp on the main executable, but I'm trying to

I'm wondering if there is a requirement to have the game registered on Impulse before May 10th, as my copy may still be in transit when that deadline hits. [e digicons]8|[/e]
Ok, here are some tips for new players: At first, you make think that dieing to another DemiGod (DG) is not so bad. You lose no money, no experience points (XP), and you only get 30 seconds in "Limbo". So you may think there is nothing to lose charging into towers or several other DGs, because, whats the worst that can happen? Well, the bad news is, the other team gets money and XP for killing you; money they can

I suggest limiting demo play to: A demigod choice of either one assassin or one general (all others are grayed out) only one map most of the abilities, upgrades, etc demo players only play on demo servers

It turns out that's basically how it works, except only a little different. Login to http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/ Download all the pieces to your game. Transfer to the offline PC. Start the installer. It will present you with a menu that gives you three steps (with links). The rest of the steps are shown in the image. [IMG]http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr42/deoren/s
Seventh, all people who have bought Demigod at retail or direct up May 10th (and didn't return the game obviously) will be getting a coupon that will let them purchase a second copy of Demigod for 50% off for a limited time as a way for us to show appreciation for this community that has put their faith and trust in us.
Can you guys release some more information on this?
BTW, yesterday, our team came in at 9am and did not leave until the following morning (7am). That's a 22 hour day. Sorry that's not good enough for you.
Brad: I placed an order today on the faith that you guys will get this working, and will make it up to your customers. I don't agree with you on all of your positions, but I do like that you're open and approachable. I don't really have the authority or the grounds to expect you to change your tone, but it wou
But I still believe the root of it is the anger and dissatisfaction from the consumer base.
Agreed! There was a lot of hate generated towards EA ever since the announcements last summer about Mass Effect phoning home every 10 days. They of course ended up backing down from that initial plan, but the damage was done.
A disk check? So I'll need the CD in my drive when I play? Not good enough. Call me back when they've got NO DRM just the same as SINS or Demigod.
Not to nitpick, but both are using GOO now, which is DRM. It's just locking the game to your system on install (via Impulse) instead of checking for the disc in the drive. Even if you install via Retail "DRM-free" discs, when you update you'll get GOO.
Not Anywhere archives. No internet/authentication required to install from those, so as long as you've got them backed up it won't matter if Stardock goes out of business.
Actually they do require internet/authentication. Here is the process as I understand it: Download archive for the game you want to install. Download a copy of Impulse if you don't already have it. Transfer these to the system you want t
BioWare games deserve to be played, not boycotted! Agreed! They explicitly stated it won't be any version of SecuSuck. But they didn't mention Starforce...
Check out the later posts for more details

Because archives require authentication in order to restore (as in providing no protection in case Stardock goes out of business), is the point of an archive mainly to provide a way to restore to a specific version?
Still i believe that piracy does effect sales in some manner, which made me have a fear Stardock will go DRM at some point due to this amount of pirates
Goo = DRM It ties system specific information to the game executable. If that info doesn't checkout when you launch the game, it errors out. Granted it's not as bad as Starforce, but it's still DRM.
Maybe so, but the only ones I see at the moment (that come to mind) are Stardock and Crytek.
You must have missed the whole Patch 1.3 thing ... They canceled support to the first game so they could implement it in a new product. Honorable? I don't think so. While releasing a new game is alright by me, they should not have outright canceled the patch and still claim support.

I'm also one of the many eagerly awaiting the demo. The screen shots and trailers look awesome but there is little to replace seeing for yourself. :)
