http://www.waisdivide.unh.edu/about/ has a nice 18 minute video that describes ice core methods. What surprised me was that the cheeky film maker included the famous hockey blade appended to the end of a graph that could in no way be part of the data developed from the ice. I liked Michael Chricton's State of Fear even though it was very soapboxy and the main character was impossibly stupid and naive. <a href="http:/

[quote who="JuleTron" reply="265" id="2472172"] Apparently each of us makes about a kilogram of co2 per day that enters the atmoshpere when we exhale, about 300 kilograms per year from breathing. This CO2 is part of the natural carbon cycle and it gets taken in by plants. We are not the problem. What is the problem is that forests are getting bulldozed so less CO2 is traken out of the air and less O2 is made, but ialso CO2 from fossil fuels is not a part of th

Apparently each of us makes about a kilogram of co2 per day that enters the atmoshpere when we exhale, about 300 kilograms per year from breathing. This puts a country like Australia with perhaps the highest per capita co2 release of about 20 thousand kilograms per yer into a more reasonable light. At least for me, as I did not know until today how much co2 I exhale per day, and it seems reasonable for a country as sparsely settled

Even if the piratebase is setup like home planets in the Ancients Gifts map with the wormhole artifact and the planet fully explored they cannot travel through wormholes. So the pirate AI is not able to use the wormhole tech.

It is a very fast map. Seems very balanced. I changed it to allow for 10 players. I liked this map except when zooming out and having the stars glow washing out detail. This is a minor problem with having so many stars close together.

I don't think you can do this the way you describe. Look at some of the tech research for the way SoaSE research works. You can specify that to research something some other research must have already been done but I doubt that you can write an expression within the research entity file like if CapShipSlot# However it is a neat idea. Actually I think I w

Could UaW be done? UaW and Sins are very different games. The resource collection would be interesting. iirc there is only one resource in UaW but each race got credits very differently. Can a structure be built to generate resources without building extractors. How would FLOW be implemented, as well the research tree limits. It would be interesting to have a Light/Dark generator but what would it do? Boost ships speed then boost their range. How would

Have a look at the planet bonuses, there is at least one which gives more tax. Don't know if that will help. But you could do allure of the unity and subtract out the crystal and metal buff resulting in just a boost to credit.

I wanted to try it but the faction I chose had not been finished (tec econ) as I think that the econ faction has a huge early game advantage in terms of getting ships and structures built and expanding - greater advantage than either the Agg or Def choice as for the same cost they get twice the fleet points. THIS equals approximately the combined benefit that both the Agg and Def would get, ignoring the Econs greater likely cost of fleet supply at any poin

Instead of increasing the number of asteroids perhaps increase the rate per asteroid, as this will not result in an empire tree full of asteroids. As well if you are going to increase your homeworld resource rate by 10 (3 asteroids to 30) you might simply want to increase the tax per pop rate by a factor of ten rather than by increasing the population to 3000 as this will take ages to get back to if your HW is bombed (of course you could increase the growth rate of the populati

In the same location where the mod folders are located there is a Setting folder with a file user.setting that can be altered to have Sins tell you if and where the game/mod is bugged as the mod is loaded or a game is played. ShowErrors True (I think this is likely the one and it is near the end of the file) This might help you find out the exact cause of the crash, note that a single error in a file may cause an infinite number of errors to be shown

you could edit the gameplay.constants file in the gameinfo folder of the mod the lines you would edit are under shipSpeedPhysicsData which are looked at when you select the game option of ship speed this way you could increase the speed of all ships by 3 or 4 on fast ship speed without having to edit every ship entity file.

I like insurgency, and irc I was on the recieving end of it and that was about the only time I found RA of any use. [quote who="SwerydAss" reply="8" id="1894640"]With my idea above the ships would not have a time limit but would leave when the enemy leaves the gravity well. Also they would not be able to leave the gravity will they were summoned in and not be able to be scuttled. I would also eliminate the cost completely. RA would also be only be cast once for each

Yeah think it does disable abilities. Was shocked cause I thought I could get repair but I think I remember abilitiies disable in red on the infocards. FFFFk. Play and Learn.

The illum illusions use fleet cap. I never noticed. gotta test this, unbelievable if it is true, really boneheaded (sorry IC). RA needs majar tweeaking, back to its glory days!!!! Although the notion that they return to the ether is interesting. Meaning one would have to be fast on the scuttling. Seriosly a simple fix would be that all things remaining the same tweak it so RA and DA come even if fleet is maxed out. I am not really thinking of massive maps,

I like how the ships work together, especially the Advent and the Vasari. The Tec ships, though that is the faction I started with, do not seem to have the same synergy as the the other two. I think the Advent ships and abilititys work together the best in a straight on fight (although the Revelation bc I have not had much use for I know almost nothing about, nor the top of the line psi ship -forget the name- has the ultimate of stealing a ship which is not so great an ultim

It is bs. Phase gates are terrific, RA and DA are not worth it, Sentinels come. There are great ships that come like enforcers, overseers, subverters but sentinels suck, The research costs a fortune for the unlikely chance that it will be used. Maps favouring the building of a lot of phasegates do make the research to RA and DA somewhat worthwhile as the likelyhood of those phase noded planets getting raided is high and your ships may be elsewhere an

Space Ponies are the Cultural Carriers of the Soaze universe, if you find them load the planet with Culture Centers if it is on the Front. Actually consider making this planet your front line. The culture bonus is awesome. Just would like culture to be more useful. These ponies decimate other planets when catalyzed with culture.

The AI is dumb. Make ships, lots of ships. go kill the ais. Seriously that is the way. And you know the ai's are going to gang up on you if it is ffa unlocked so try and find choice planets for tactical structures and frigate factorys, send in frigates passed the front of the ai to mess with the ai's economy, use cap ships to bomb planets to attract ai fleets to the defence then run (position the cap ship so it can flee in the direction you want). Always be

Is IC working on a way to minimize lag from this effect. by offering an option to really simplify the graphic? (although I kind of like the effect as it sort of acts like a smoke screen is space making target selection a little more dificult).

Jose when you were fighting the vasari were you killing the subverters and the overseers first. I remember the first time I played against Vasari and I knew little of the Vasari, so I am destroying a Cap and all of a sudden it goes from like 10 hullpoints to 2000 or something like that. WTF, I had no clue what had happened, I did not realize how fast those overseers can stack hp. And a single subverter can disable several of your ships. several of t

There is a neat thread that discusses real space combat, and I think the consensus in the thread was that strike craft would not be useful. Unless perhaps they were kamikazi, all engine and fuel mass and kinetic kill vehicles - not sure if this idea was mentioned in the thread. Just realized I sort of restated Photino's post 12 on the kinetic kill strike craft, still I think a pilot may make better decisions over an automated algorythm run craft - b
