I love Erebus' abilities. They are neat and fun to use, but seriously after playing a few games with him I realized how much wasted potential was in his character. First of all, I realize the game isn't balanced yet, but I feel pointing out the problems with the character can help in the balancing process. Now, why does his mist scale in such a retarded fashion. What a sweet but completely useless skill. So you activate it at level 4 and die? Is that its pu

I can't join at all. Is the server still up?
Also, not putting yourself into a stun lock situation is part of the gameplay. You can't run in and expect to live. Play smart and you won't get stunlocked as much. End thread until hero balances are patched.
How about giving it a little more time before making such outlandish claims. Your black and white statements come off as quite childish to me. First Childish I think not realist more like it. A game like Diablo, Star Craft, War craft, and Supcom are fun because character class or race can win and compete. And time how much time do you need this game is due of the shelves in three mouths. What you have here is total stun fest ascending
I just played a Dota game where we stunned someone for 12 seconds straight. If the Torch Bearer stun is OP, incorporate an item that makes a hero invulnerable to all magic attacks and stuns for 10 seconds on activation.
I think Erebus could be really good. Get tons of HP and use his cloud. You level up extremely fast and push creeps with crazy ability. I was level 7 before anyone was level 4. Also generals are like support heroes it seems. They aren't useless and are powerful. They can't go toe to toe, but the Oak's shield is powerful to an ally.
I have tried I believe to keep all of my posts civil. I have edited out one or two of my comments in old posts that I felt were unnecessary because I was pissed off when people made impersonal generalizations. So far this community is generally respectful unlike the WC3 Dota community. I think the arguements will die down for a bit after Beta 2. After that, there will be far more heated arguements than what we have seen. I just hope people will use specific evide
The major problem I see in this is that if there were to be an imbalance in the game, and such an imbalance was capitalized upon in a tournament setting, would the team be forced to forfeit their title? Whose fault is it at that point in time, the player or the developers and testers?
I think this is irrelavent as a tournament would not occur 2 weeks after launch. If an imbalance was found, it would probably
As a Dota player myself, I agree with just about everything Jinx is saying. To get good at Dota took time. In order to play, I went to the forums at dota-allstars.com and read every hero build in the strategy forum. Its not a game for people who want to be spoon fed. I sucked at first. But as long as I kept in mind that I wasn't "godlike," I kept myself out of most ganks and learned how to play. I've been playing Dota for about 2 years now, and it

I have a team of 4 I usually play with and sometimes I can get 7-8 players total. My account name is Clezar on Bnet. We have vent server that we use, or we could just use Demigod's vent. We are playing tonight. Let me know if your interested.
I mean I don't think it should be black and white but you can't speculate that magically one guy will always end up with bad players so he will keep losing and then they will still magically pair him with worse players. It just doesn't make sense. Also the points about last hitting are right and tactics are right.
If my ladder rank was dependent on my wins and loses, which is how a ladder works, I wou
A personal win record still isn't out of the question. Assuming there's a random pool of A player that could win in situation C could win in situations A and B, resulting in a 100% win rate. Godly player, godly win rate. Simple as that.
Not in this game, no. This isn't an RTS. You need to have a team to back up you up. If the other players are bad, the other team is going to get more gold with kills and
Fact: Ladders and Win/Loss ratios do constribute to bad behavior. Fact: Ladders put off players because they feel as though they'll be able to attain a certain standard in the game.
These two points are important, and I agree with them. Having a Ladder in Demigod that is based off individual records is plain stupid. The reason is because more so than any other
This is a question for the GPG and Stardock people, but I would love to hear other opinions as well. If Stardock and GPG are planning on hosting official tournaments for the game, I wondered if GPG and Stardock would be willing to sponsor on going ranked Demigod tournments like Cal does. The Cal system basically advances players through a tiered system, where the finalists and best players of the first tournaments are invited to a higher level tournament. By follow
Note, this is bad in any and every form. Would be nice to put a plug on the gaming form of it at least.
I'm not saying your ideas are flawed or wrong, but saying that competition is bad in any and every form is a contradiction to your ideals. If your purpose is to simply play the game to have fun, then losing every game should not matter. The enjoyment of the game would simply outweight the negative aspect of
I don't have any idea what your trying to say haha. Battle.net is battle.net. It is a great free system that has been in place for years. It seems your just judging the people within it. Some people are great. Some are assholes. That is the way it is. I don't think you should judge the Battle.net system just because of the people. With the huge population it supports, you are just bound to have arguments. Demigod should advance past Blizza
there are items as well in dota... (Jinx ninja posted me) Guys seriously withhold discussion about this until we at least see beta2 and then discuss in a polite manner without bashing others or other games. More complicated hero skills and synergies would be something I would look for in later heroes. Also I am actually more interested in what could be put in the game that Dota doesn't have. Currently, Demigod's only difference in the current beta is the capturable map points, but even these are like Roshan (a super creep who drops and special item.) What we really need to see are the changes that have been made in the new beta. I want to see the new items that have been

My only response to you Terramis is have you ever played Dota, and if you have was it more than once. Demigod has so many similarites to that game that even the end goal is the same, destroying the opponents stronghold. Its the same exact concept. Creeps are released in waves. You have hero that is used to support your creeps and push them into the enemy base. As someone else said, Demigod is also like Tides of Blood. To me its the same thing. Also, s
In TDA, a team can surrender after a certain amount of time has passed as long as everyone on the losing team votes for a remake.
I hate leavers, so obnoxious. TDA rules work great. As long as their is an organization or group of somekind that can maintain order outside the public sphere, I'll be happy. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind having a DC count registered to people's accounts.
Take my advice and go play Dota. If you think that game offers replayability, then preorder Demigod. If you don't, then don't preorder Demigod. Seriously at this point your question is arbitrary opinion. Its basically asking whether L4D has replayability after you beat the game on Normal or Advanced. Would you try to beat the game on expert after you've beaten the game on hard? If your answer is no, then maybe Demigod isn't a replayable game for you.
I agree with almost everything here as I love playing Dota. However, you have to remember your speaking in generalties. Sure Dota has 90+ heroes but as stated many of them have similar skills with only slight variations. Also, in competitve play how many of those 90+ heroes are actually viable. What GPG seems to be trying is to make every character a viable choice in competitive play. Unlike Dota which has a total of maybe 20 top tier pic
