Well, we've now gone full circle! I'm still suspicious that the construction ship is a placeholder for the envoy cruiser , and that the other ship is a new capital!

The devs must have known this detail was hidden among the released screenshots; now that we've found it and pointed it out, any chance we can get confirmation on what those two ships are? Is the the envoy + a new capital, or is it a capital envoy + something else? Personally, I still lean towards envoy+ new capital, since we were told the envoys were "cruisers" and the 1st menu is definitely the cruiser menu, while the 2nd menu is the capital ship menu...

I haven't seen mention of it yet anywhere (but do feel free to shoot me down if I'm wrong), but on those screenshots seen on the front page, they've got the capital ship factory selected in the background of one... and there are 6 capital ships displayed for TEC. And just to be clear, in the other shot, there is a new cruiser shown for construction, which we can only assume is the 'envoy cruiser' we've been told about.... so it looks like those of you out there looking

I for one, applaud Stardock in what they are doing. GOO sounds like an intelligent step in a direction other than the overlord-like DRM control we've seen thus far. I do have a question for any of the Stardock staff (or someone who better understands the press-release): I do understand that GOO does one-time activation through the publisher, thus rendering it Digital Distributor neutral. I also understand that as currently built, there

AI with the 'cracked windshield' will no longer expand or move their fleets around, as they have surrendered, but will continue to defend themselves when you invade. I assumed this behaviour was intentional, as I've had AI 'surrender' many times. Destroying a large enough fleet that they know the can't rebuild before you sweep up their remaining 3-5 planets will sometimes force this condition.

I also concur; I cannot stabilize phase space of a sun using a starbase. I was really hoping to, as this would be a quick-funnel for units built in outter planets to star jump on maps with no wormholes...

I've tried reloading my game a few times, and always the adjudicator no longer actually fires. It behaves as if it thinks it is firing, but there are no particle effects, and it doesn't seem to be doing damage to nearby structures or starbases. The referenced save file should drop you in the middle of a starbase siege where I should be winning, but for

I played on a random large (3 planet) map yesterday. One system had mostly volcanos, 1 ice planet, and 2 desserts on top of the usual asteroids, while another system was exactly reversed (all ice, and 1 volcano, asteroids, 2 desserts). 3rd system (with no spawn points) was more balanced. While this made for an interesting match, I'm not sure this behaviour was intended. I can supply a save game if this is worth following up.

I'm also currently playing Red Alert 3, and I noticed that the attack bears sound almost exactly like the druids that transform into bears from Warcraft 3. I suspect that for some sound effects and music, there must be an open library of sounds, similar to clip art, to which game companies must subscribe...
