A QUESTION If you want to keep rogue stars in the game but render them uncolonizable even with gas giant colonization do you just change 'iscolonizabe' to FALSE, and 'planettypeforresaerch' to "uncolonizable"...? or do you have to make changes elsewhere... do you have to change all the numbers to 0.0000(pop, modules, asts,...etc)
Have you checked all the categories in the map selection? GF maps will appear under one of the sizes, not the custom category.
yep...not there version # is: 1 it is browsable saved in the install path galaxy folder i have all the most updated versions of game and GF.... :p

btw...dont get me wrong... i play sins now and love it. really u cant compare sins to ta(total annihilation) and say ones better as they are completely different experiances. sins is rt4x and theres more to it than blowin s*** up (diplomicy, research, scouting) ta is geared towards just creating armies and destroying everything in epic battles (the name says all)
If by TA you mean Tele-Arena, then I agree 100%. In fact, i'm playing TA right now!
sorry but nope.... TA - TOTAL ANNIHILATION it was still one of the most played online rts games TEN YEARS after release...are u f***ing kidding ME!!!! TA was a absolute monumental turn in rts games. to still be around after so long (and the fan base is ridiculous) is just nuts. I played it for several years and loved every minute TA blew eve
Only one of the best PC strategy games ever. (Master of Orion 2)
uh...id argue for TA
I can't access my maps I create with Galaxy Forge!!! What am I doing wrong? I am saving the galaxy file in the program files/sins/galaxy directory
Im having this same problem and noone seems to know how to fix it... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
b) Second issue is using random maps it seems to create the "rogue stars" around the map and makes them colonizable? Not sure if this is what you intended but find it odd my guys can live on a star.
They wouldnt live on the star (lol). The same goes for gas giants. it would an orbital platform city thing like bespin in star wars. (notice when you do colonize its expensive untill u research both levels of advanced gas giant colonization.
Please refrain from using the words "realistic" or "unrealistic" when talking about a game. IT IS A GAME. A rt4x game. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE REALISTIC. it is meant to be fun and intertaining. i beleive someone has stated this point before but i cant remember who or where
also....by default...when u create a planet group it will have 4-6 random planets in it
dude......it cant be made anymore clear. planet group is a GROUP OF PLANETS, and other stuff. so you need to put stuff in it or it wont exist.............
UpdatedPlease post any bugs you find or changes in the log I forgot to make in-game.
When playin tec sometimes the tradeport is unable to build. You can select it and place it but your cons wont build it and when you manualy do it it says that its already built. But it remains transparent. its hps are o.oo and it doesnt spawn any trade ships... Also was wondering where the files are that you changed for the amount of tact. slots used by the planetery defense cann
damn no edit edit button i may have misunderstood you question...a planet group is a 'group' of planets. planet group contents are what is in the planet group making a large map....id recemend using multiple groups with differing distances from the star. doesnt matter obviuosly. or you could make just one planet group group that spawns anywhere. (min/max is min/maxed out) if you make just one group that is close to the star then you starting terran and ast will be far away from the
Example: You want to make a map that makes sense (volcanic close to sun or close to gas giant, and ice far out) so...you want 3 volc, 4ice, 2 des, and 5 ast. Make one planet group. add in volc. 3 of them. Then make the min/max closest to the star. (this means the planets will spawn close to the star. Make another group. Asterid. 5. Make their min/max closest to the star and farthest away from the star. (theyl spawn anywhere in that stars grav feild. make another group. ice. 4
Fighters are way better vs Siege frigates than Bombers I believe.
Yes. Bombers are more for cruisers/caps/buildings.
1. Expand fast, but wisely. Get a good portion of the map, but don't overextend yourself. In the initial expansion rush, try to keep your borders confined to 1-2 chokepoints, even if it means one less asteroid (unless you can guarantee safety on that border without diverting your resources of course).
I find it is ALWAYS best to nab all those asteroids outside the chokepoints. Why? they act as an early warning system. With the tecs phase jump detection research you
the largest fleet ive ever used in game: 49 Colbalts 35 Javelis 40 Gardas 25 Percherons 10 Ceilos 15 Hoshikos 39 Kodiaks 6 Kols 3 Dunovs 3 Sovas 2 Akkans 2 Marzas 34 Fighter Squads 16 Bomber Squads
The best strategy against noviliths is a very aggessive one. Its simple...keep the pressure on them enough and dont let them build them. If your oponent builds several novaliths your fleet should be at an advantage (he spent alot of resources and research time to get them). Simply hit'em hard, hit'em often
I tried that.... Dont know if this sheds any more light but...when i open up my install path galaxy folder i have to click 'view compatibility files' to see the maps i made in GF...
I think i understand what was going on now... When i was creating maps. I made only one planet group and made its distance close to the star...You home planet and neighboring ast & ice/volc always spawn at the max distance from the star. When i make maps with several planet groups, some close to the star others far away this problem doesnt happen... This makes sense and i wonder why i didnt think of it earlier...
i think i found the problem. even though i save in the install path galaxy folder. its properties say the path is the users path galaxy folder. i dont understand this or how to change but it seems like this maybe why....?....the other maps(ones that come with game) are in the same folder but their properties say their path is in the install path galaxy folder....
i think this is wats wrong anyone know how to fix this yes i made it browsible...im not that noobish..
