15 years just last week (August 27th). Completely happy together still. Still waiting for the honeymoon to end. It will continue to get happier Pretender. I just remembered one main thing that my dad told me when I got married. He and my mother have been married 51 years. The thing he told me was this: "Marriage is give and take. Your mother gives the orders and I take the

Gotta go for a while. I'm ripping up bathroom tiles today. Putting in new tub/shower and then retiling. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of the weekend. (not much chance of that.)

LadyWolf, that goes to the original question that started this thread. What does Wise create? He creates an atmosphere in which pleasent and intelligent conversations can take place. He is always ready to discuss anything, and probably more important, he is always ready to listen to everyone's point of view. Believe me, that is a great gift in itself.

Oh man, sounds like you know all the good pain killers. For my arthritis (mainly in my fingers and elbows) I take Entrophen. Works ok for now, but I know eventually I'll need something stronger. I wish I could take an early retirement. Our Armed Forces allows for retirement at 50 with full pension. (and it's a very good pension) Unfortunately, I never was in the Army. So, with my present job, I'm gonna have to wait until I'm at least 60. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/image

Ooooouch. Sorry to hear that. I know it can drive you up the wall sometimes, dealing with the pain. I've been a press operator for 22 years. 22 years of lifting 50 pound reams of paper in and out of presses. 22 years of bending at the knees to lift. They told us that it saves your back, but they neglected to tell us it blows out the knees. All the joints are starting to break down. I'm no stran

Healing from what? What happened? Oh yeah!, and your right about Bob Villa, he was really just a host, not a doer. I guess I could compare myself to Norm Abrams, but then he is more of a Carpenter then a 'do-it-yourselfer'

Doing fine this morning Wise. Love weekends. Love forgetting about work for a couple of days. Gives me time to do more things around the house. Believe it or not, I like fixing things up around the house. Kind of a mini Bob Villa. How 'bout yourself?

GM, Just to let you know, I did not guess right away about your gender. The way I figured it out, way back when, was by clicking on you name one time and then reading your public profile. The first name gave it away. As of yet, I don't know any males named Diane. So, sometimes it isn't always apparent just

Although, sometimes I pretended that I only had one phone line. I would give the number of my 'modem' line out to people I didn't really want calling me. That way, they almost always got a busy signal.

I agree, we should use these boards to discuss things. Even sensitive things like this do need to be discussed. But the topic needs to be presented as WiseOldMan said above. That way, we start from a positive viewpoint. Everyone is on the same side that way. That way, we are all looking for the solution together. Yes, sometimes someone will come on and flame the topic. It's our duty to disregard these people and to look past the flame and stay focused on the topic in a positive wa

I'll try and heed your advice Wise. Unfortunately, I have a wife that is a little 'starstruck' so I don't think I'll be able to keep her away from the whole L.A./Hollywood thing. We'll have to spend at least a day there to satisfy her need to gaze at 'stars'.

You know, Lecrayon, I do wish he would reconsider. I'm sorry his work was rejected. As you know, mine has been rejected and scrutinized too. But I learned that by posting something like this to the message board just opens you up to ridicule. If he has a complaint with being rejected then he should email the admins and discuss it with them privately. It really is the only way to solve these problems. I learned that the hard way. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/

Ahhh. Beach Boys, Brian and company. Mamma's and Papa's (California Dreamin') Regretably, one of the few States I haven't been too. That and Hawaii and Alaska. My wife and I plan to go there soon. San Fransico, L.A.

You're right Wise, I should read more carefully. My apologies. I once, when I was 10, had the priviledge of attending one of Van Cliburn's concerts. My piano teacher at the time insisted that I go. To this day I'm gratefull she did. That concert survives as one of the greatest memories of my youth. <img s
