Besides, to add to Archon's statement, shouldn't defensive units -be- hard to hit? That's kind of their hat, after all. You need a offensive powerhouse to overcome them and probably other tactics to go with. As for such creatures early in the game... avoid them. You're not going to be able to tame the wilderness in one fell sweep. Some things you will simply need to avoid until you're more powerful. And this is where level 1 cities can be useful - helping to tame the wilderness and pr

Kudos for the apology though I don't think it's really needed. It -was- a pre-release version and it was known that you guys would be doing a launch day patch. Picking up on that was as much their silliness as anything else. Though for the general nature of it all, it is rather unfortunate that developers can step away from games but games do not step away from developers. This sort of situation where a developer can't say anything for fear that it will be taken without any real resea

Try sending in another support request. Make sure it's the right email. Make sure it hasn't been sent to the spam box. PM Frogboy himself on the forums. I understand that you're venting but blowing yourself up on the forums is about the least productive thing you can do. You just piss yourself off more while not actually progressing the issue.

You can connect a bank account to your Paypal account. If you do so, then Paypal can draw from that bank account when there is no money in the Paypal account itself. You can do the same with a credit card. You will have to make an account at Paypal directly and do it there for security reasons.

Haven't gotten that far yet. But note that coastlines are not normally walkable - you may need to 'raise' the cliffs in order to truly connect it. If you have grids on, you'll be able to see if there's a square or not to walk on.

Basically, it saves you about 15-20 turns for the more expensive items; things you couldn't get right away. And it only lasts a small period of time before better stuff is available. While this could be a nice short term advantage... it's expensive to do that compared to taking other benefits which are longer lasting and potentially more significant. Now if they were 'pack' items like the scout pack but only for sovereigns, that would be interesting (and not take up an item space). Some of th

1/2 don't really stop steamrolling. They just make it take longer - after all, even if it takes a few turns longer to get to a city, you still have 20+ units ready to steamroll a handful of defenders. It's just a matter of attrition because as long as the defender really can't harm the overall strength of a stack, that stack remains equally powerful no matter what the bonuses the defender gets; in most cases, if a giant stack gets to a city, that city is already lost. As for the

Maybe something like... The primary city of a resource gets all the benefits of it. Other cities in the empire also get the benefits of the resource but at a reduced rate, quality, and quantity; so cities without direct access might be able to make a derived unit but it would take longer, cost more resources, and only support a small amount. The primary city can, however, send out shipments to other cities, allowing them a temporary boost to production until they use up

That's just synergy. There's not really anything to be done to 'fix' that situation that wouldn't just screw up every other situation.

Since there isn't much known yet of the actual game and such, it's hard to say. My best guess from the information I have would be like a combination of Supreme Commander, Civilization, and any number of traditional turn based strategy games like Heroes of Might and Magic, Age of Wonders, etc.

I think part of the issue is the lack of need for communication. Other than the occasional skill combo among teammates, as long as you're doing something productive, there's little reason to talk. More and better methods of co-operative play within a match would help encourage both teamwork and team communications. Look at L4D - the need for teammates to rescue each other (something they can not do themselves unless they outright prevent it to begin with) encourages teamwork and team communic

Steam games require that steam is running because they all use Steam to do 'stuff'. Impulse is completely independant of it's games. You don't need to be running Impulse to run Demigod or play multiplayer. Hense, Demigod needs to login internally that way. But yes, plaintext passwords are bad.

Regardless of semantics, it's something that Stardock is looking at for balancing issues. Whether or not it's a bug or an exploit or something else will have little bearing on whether it gets changed or not over balancing issues. Something doesn't need to be a bug or exploit to be unbalanced and something doesn't need to be unbalanced to be a new and unique synergy.

Perhaps if one team is dominating well and good for X amount of time, they can call a match wide vote to declare victory (or vice versa, the team being dominated can issue a surrender). If enough people vote, the match ends and is recorded. If there is not enough votes, the game keeps going. If it's obviously a lopsided match, most people will probably be happy just to get it over with in good faith, I imagine.

I would like to see slightly better AI for the minions as well as more general commands for them. General states of aggression and distance away from the general would be nice, for instance. Hold Fire/Return Fire/Fire at Will for how much a minion will act on its own. Close/Escort/Spread for how close they stay tot he general by default. Having minions without orders or doing something default to following the general. Things like this to make having minions less about trying to find and pick

Brad Wardell did release various announcements explaining exactly what was going on. Heck, he even sent a personal letter to places like IGN so they could post up what was going on directly from him and apologize for the issues.
