Why are you all hating on my rook , my vote goes to the Staff of Renewal as the most overpowered Demigod (even though it isn't one).
My Bracelets of Rage want a word with you. That said, the Bracelets cost like 19,000 gold while the renewal staff is free. I don't hate Rook now I've found ways of avoiding the hammer. He still needs a nerf in some of his skills and his speed though.

This is a good idea, I think. It would help prevent some of the more annoying deep caps in early game, at the very least, although in theory it also ENCOURAGES deep capping if the penalties for not being linked are high enough. Perhaps another idea is to have "widowed" (love that word) flags become less effective? So the Experience flag (assuming it can be widowed, which in this map it can't) would only give the team that holds it only 10% bonus experience instead of the usu

What needs to be done is a 25% HP INCREASE on Rook, but half or worse his speed. He needs to be all-or-nothing, can get into a fight, and will survive for a long time, but if he starts to get overwhelmed he should not be able to effectively retreat. As for the whole roll-slam thing, he is

UB is fairly good once you max out his attack speed and power; he's an effective creep and minion killer once he gets postmortem and his snare/stun skills are useful if you see someone trying to run/tele away from combat. Essentially, Once UB gets you in combat he tends to keep you in there and there's little you can do to get away from him; this is as he should be, IMO. He's pretty weak early on though and he's not very durable, so if you can keep some momentum going over him an
At the moment, the only people playing the beta are those so besotted by the concept of the game that they are willing to shell out the required cash without actually knowing fully what they're getting into; these are the people who will form the foundations of the community when it's out, and they are the people most likely to be dedicated to making the game better. Open Beta has its strengths, but only late on in the development lifecycle; you use it late on in the ba
I'm not sure snipe is affected by armor. It's a skill, and afaik no skills get reduced by armor. I would also like to see snipe changed, but unlike the first 2 posters I don't think it needs a buff. I would like to see a bigger mana cost on the skill so it cannot be "spammed".
I thought this (about the armour vs skills) as wel. Then I noticed my Snipe was getting odd numbers well below what the tooltip was stating
Queen = UP vs demigods (esp assassins)
Not sure if you're taking that as a negative, but that's kind of the point; she's a mass creep killer and siege specialist. My personal opinion was always that Generals should not be able to actually kill demigods in one on one combat, but should require Minions. This says nothing about running away from demigods when you have no minions, or anything else. I see no obj
You make a lot of sense in many ways, gkrit. It's always good to get the opinion of an outsider who has no prior knowledge of the topic at hand, because you get a completely fresh perspective. Your example on character balancing is very much true; however the example you've chosen (Rook), doesn't hold particularly true as it stands right now. I always saw Rook as a Tank myself, so I'd argue his strength was medium instead of high, adn his health/armour/durability on high.
Melee gods dodnt suck look at Rook he riiged 2 spells and your basicly screwed. boulder roll plus hammer slam.
I don't see that as much of a problem (yet). It's early days with balancing and there are numerous ways of making sure this strategy is less viable, especially early game. 'm willing to hold on this for a while to see how it progresses.

Interesting stuff, and food for thought. Deadeye is indeed not that useful at the moment; the one second of stun that you can never predict isn't helpful to Regulus as you never see it coming and thus can't make any opportunity from it; the cast tme for mines is too large to get in within a second, snipe takes too long to get ready and shoot, it only offers you time to escape. I agree that changing it to armour penetration is both logical and desirable. Snipe I am in two minds
Interesting idea. I have no problem with Snipe as is, other than the co-ordinated attacks. Co-ordinated Snipe attacks are something I would imagine won't last long in the balancing process; a couple of ways to get rid of it are: A ) Snipe does less damage if it hits in quick succession (so the more snipes you take, the less damage each one does), B ) Tracking Device only affects the player that puts it on you. So the rest of the enemy team can't see you to sn

There's no easy route out of this though, unless you count rebalancing generals as Assassins and just adding the Generals concept in a later patch (for the record, I think that's not the best idea out there). As an update on this, I was on the IRC chat last night when the developers were on, and I asked about some modding tools. Yarlen said something like "We don't have any plans for it at this time". Not an outright no, but certainly it's not their priority at the moment.
I think, and that can be still added, that they should make more dependant skills, like in the QoT skill tree. Make various skills at the end of the tree that are dependant from the skills you leveled. Nah. Rook has had his hammer smash buffed considerably. Put it back how it was before, make sure he has a lower base speed than other demigods, and I think he'd be alright. All that you need to nerf on Regulus (as in, there are some aspects of him that need buffing) is to make visible mines destructible. Nothing more. My thoughts, once again.
Agree with the above, for the most part. If you make Generals the only ones able to deal with the citadel though, then the citadel has to affect them directly too, in the form of stats upgrades. I'd like to see Generals on the front lines leading troops. I'd like to see a greater focus on the minions as well. I'd like to see Generals with both Creep killing ability and siege ability, but very little Demigod killing ability (although you should ideally be able to spec one way or the ot
Siege damage has its place. For one thing, it forces you to make a choice between the siege skill and another skill. It should also be noted that most people are saying that Rook's siege skill is largely useless for actual siege; more often than not he simply uses it on his own towers to heal himself. QoT's can only attack, making it a more viable option, but even then her basic attack outranges towers (I think). In many cases (early on in the game at least) you get higher DPS vs the tow
Tai, I agree with most of your points, (especially concerning Rook and UB, however: Oak's Spirits are, as far as I am aware, designed to not be able to be hit by many units. Since I play Rook and Queen of Thorns, both of whom can hit them, I never usually have trouble with them. Do they do lots of damage? The colour tint issue is a bug. This game apparently has many shared elements with DOTA; I don't think it should be compared to it at every turn tho
A question. Could you include an option that allows you turn Warscore on (default setting, as it is in 2b) or off (time based, as it was in 2 and previously)? That would take part of this problem out. The other part is all about balance. As it's a beta and I've not played enough games online to see how well warscore works, I'll reserve judgement until I have played it more. I do like the idea of Warscore (it rewards the more skilled player that can keep flags) but yes, it's al
