I understand it completly:D. But I do not agree. The problem is pathfinding, this will bug the shit out of this game. Also I'd say the effort is not enough for the gain.
Sparika, saying Generals have to participate in battle may be taking away from their General-Feel. I'd say the best route would be to make some Generals more suited to participate in battle, and others more suited to stay in the base. Let the player decide what they want to do with the General. Lifekatana, you said "give us ways to deactivate them for a long time" - by them, you mean Portals. Well, at present you can. You can capture
No I'm talking about castles not the Citadel. Get your facts straight please.
You are doing it wrong. Towers don't need to be nerfed, general should NOT stay in their base. I for one actually tried to play the game general style. I bought very little items, din't use things like Last Stand and for the rest only bought minion upgrades. It was great, I took a neutral portal and used them in conjuction with my own minions to kill the towers. In 2 min I had wiped the entire right field of towers, giving my creeps free roam in the enemy
There used to be castles... where are they?
I play all demigods alike, but I'll show you my new Oak strat. To be fair I was actually impressed by his general power: I never buyed artifacts or expensive items, but I stilll owned and was only killed once. Most of my kills were my minion's. Also din't use Last Stand. -Buy Monks with starting gold and take penitence. Monks are very usefull: their walking potions and they can heal allies too; golden. Penitence is vital in teamplay, better than 3 spirit
Wanted this for a long time. /Signed
More synerzing is always better no? Ooze is useless on enemy Demigods, thank you very much.
I was just kiddin' with the whole DOTA thing, I don't want the whole this is not DOTA discussion again. Thats called strategy my friend(Oak Last stand should nerfed, so thats not a point). The thing now is that taking a portal will convert it to you, but by the time your creeps are attaking his base, an enemy Demigod already killed you: you never will damage his creep waves.
A lot of us guys want this. /Signed Also, check on the intertubes, there is a Rook Roll on Toob. P.S. Hammer smash should be hammer time:-)
Right now, I don't think he is as interresting as the others: he is an excelent(spelling?) creep killer and a fast attacker but thats it. Creeps are easy to be killed so he doesn't benefit a lot from that. The biggest thing imho is that you don't have alot of control: He has a toggling ability, a power booster(Bestial wrath) and two direct attacks which are a bit boring. More synergizing between his skills would be cool. -Ooze, I never take an high lvl o
No seriously barracks should be desrtructible!
I was UB and I tried to take the right enemy portal, but I couldn't run past a line, like an invisible wall. Can't recreate it.
Me 2.
Why unreal?
giants would be sweet, but gunners aren't so good in the towerkilling deparment.
Well, I agree with you about newer graphics, but you're missing my point. DotA is more entertaining to watch than Demigod because it's clearer what's going on, and it's also more colorful (I'm not sure how you could argue that point...the WC3 engine is simply more vibrant - Demigod is in fact rather dulled in terms of colors, I'm not sure why). Again, it comes down to unit silhouettes and what not. Take a look at a
Catapultasauri should be avaleble more easily. Ie: General should be able to summon them.
Give generals more minions, atleast 20 vanilla and 10-30 demigod specific in end game. Give them the ability to change their army compostion: Son instead of 2 minos, 2 gunners, and 2 priest, an army of 3 mino's, a priest and a catapultasaurus. O yeah give Generals the ability to summon Catapultasauri. Give us a General-only consumable(Universal gadget?) that repairs buildings. Thank you for your time.
Woah... I love the sound of that gold caravan thingie. Adds more strategical depth.
It was my idea first!:p Multi lvl map isn't supported by the engine.
How it works now means he just does damage after death. If you die a lot this is a very powerfull ability, when you don't its useless. Change it instead that he is resurrected(when the players pleases so) and doesn't die after 10 secs, but doesnt get invul or frenzy and prolly also begins with half hp. Obviously add a big CD. So a rook kill your oak. Your timer begins counting, when the Rook leaves the area you rez yourself at half hp.
Two things: 1. Commands sound retarted, the should be demigod specific aura's 2. Demigod is made by GPG, not stardock.... For the rest, I agree, when your high level you should have a big army of around 20-40 dudes and being able to change your composition.
Supcom is not as competitive because it doesn't have a big fanbase: because GPG doesn't have enough money to advertise it enough(or THQ). GPG unlike Blizzard isn't a bigname developer. There are some design flawes in Supcom, but you have to remeber SC had these too . Supcom has alot more potential to become a deeper game, but it doesn't get updated coz they don't get money from it(while Blizzard does; SC II and prestice for other games). SC didn'
No, it doesn't, it makes the economical system more logical and less micro-intensive. Raiding already is a big part in these games, since they're full blown RTS's, adding more depth would only make it too complex. Another thing is that positioning of drop off points would be come way too important. Third: these games try to be the game as much about the combat and not on recourse and basebuilding, as this is a common pitfall for RTS's. With Demigod these problems aren't there:
