Newb Question On Gold Edition in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

When I start Gal Civ II Gold it gives me the option to select either `chapter'. (original `Dreadlords' or expansion `Dark Avatar') Besides the campaigns being different, if I select `Dread Lords' will it contain the other enhancements of the `Dark Avatar' expansion? In other words, if I select `Dread Lords' and play a random map, for example, will the game contain the extras from `Dark Avatar'? Thanks!
