First, Kenpachi from the Bleach anime IP. This guy is so bad-ass, he limits his own power even when facing situations that may end up with him dying. Why? Because fighting HARD is FUN. Fraps demands primarily CPU and HD capacity. You might want to try changing the cpu affinity of the fraps process to some cores demigod isn't using, and change the target drive to something not being used. I'm running a 4870x2 card, a Q9550 CPU, 8gb of ram and double (veloci)raptor drives (raid) as target drives, and I can just about squeeze in 30 FPS at 1920x1200 resolution. My bottleneck was the drives, before I put them in raid I could barely record at 1080p/30fps.

I also run it on my laptop about 50% of the time. The game is laptop-friendly as long as your laptop can live up to the specifications of the game.
