Haha, we were playing a "hardcore" expert game (if you die, you don't get saved) and we got one witch and then a tank after. The Witch oneshotted one of our guys, from 100 to dead instantly. This game is definately worth buying for its quality at release. I was just making the statement above that paying for a game based on what it MIGHT release, is something I don't do.

[quote who="fragieD" reply="3" id="1935873"]Yeah its very addictive. Heavenfall, people asked the same question with TF2 when it was released. And that only had 3 maps on release(or something like that). Think of all the new things they can add to add longevity. And user made maps etc. New characters? achievement packs, new weapons. The random location of zombies and zombie bosses add a lot of replayability and tension. A lot of oh shit! moments which i think makes this

Played it some, pretty fun. Worried about the coop-mode being too short in retail. Took about an hour to play through the demo map a few times. How much time does that mean we will spend in retail?

I had this on Atlantis as well, it happened when the defensive towers from the side portals weren't killing mobs fast enough (fast spawn+50 mob limit). They would focus on the minotaurs constantly, which allowed the archers to build up until they closed off the minotaurs. This happened before the cataputlisks were spawned, or the priests, so I guess war stage 2-4 somewhere. The enemy had the warlord flag which adds extra units to every portal as well.

Sorry if my post sounded negative by the way. I was just curious as to where this change in marketing strategy came from, and if it would mean a different game. I think it was a great interview, a great preview of the game. This game - truly - deserves all the attention it can get.

I'll say it, then. You didn't mention DOTA once. The CEO even stuttered when he was explaining how resources and such work, because he never mentioned (or didn't want to) that units spawn automatically. Does this mean that following in DOTAs footsteps is becoming more of a burden than a benefit? Does it mean changes in game design? If someone asked me to describe the game, I'd just flat out say "The idea is to have a game like DOTA, but vastly superior in every way - graphics,

I like most of the ideas here. I don't think generals should be able to control the creeps already in the game, but have full or almost full control of those that spawn thanks to them. However, there might be a few units where it is more cool that you can't control them, like corpse explosion spawning 3-5 worms, or whirlwinds roaming the battlefield attacking enemies and friends alike, or stationary units / buildings, or temporarily disabling or creating AOE in an area, like hot lava or poiso

EA in a nutshell. Funnily enough, I never had any problems with them. Either way, I suggest that any purchaser of a game check up on their consumer rights. Where I live, if a product wouldn't play or install, I'd take it back to the shop or return to sender, and if it wasn't fixed in a month I'd get my money back. Didn't EA have something similar? Don't get me wrong, I understand one person's desires and I do respect them, but sometimes I think people go too far trying to play s

I choose 3. I do not have to follow insane license agreements, but neither can I break the laws of my country which says that I MAY NOT freely add, remove or otherwise modify (to) the contents of copy right protected software. The box and it's contents are not worthless, since they include a cdkey of some sort.

I have the exact same problem with the exact same setup. Just at the edge of the waterfall texture, the 1 pixel line flashes. I will try to get a directx report up somewhere, but might be a while cause my monitor broke.

I hope to see more cool features like being made out of towers for other characters. When I first played the rook and saw his shoulders and head actually come to life... that was a "woah..." moment for me. It feels great that they're completely automated on targets that you're not even fighting. Walking through a crowd just looks so intense.

Me and a friend ran a test on lan where he put the game on a hard drive that we then "cockblocked" by loading tons of stuff from the ftp server from the same drive. The sudden spikes were exactly like what we were seeing without the high load on the drive, only more. I'm noticing neither of you mentioned the speed or type of your hard drives, but either way it is clearly annoying. I'm on Vista 64-bit, Q9550, 4gb ram, 4870 x2 (2GB), velociraptor hard drives (10 000 rpm) and I don't get

[quote quoting="post"] Demigods which start out significantly stronger than the zerg are not bad. I realize that starting out as barely more powerful than a little zergling is state-of-the-art in DotA. Demigod is not DotA. Games which run for shorter or longer times than what you're used to in DotA are not bad. Demigod is not DotA. A small map size that doesn't take twenty minutes to trudge across is not bad. This one's particularly galling given that this is Beta 1 and the bon

I know that this phase 1 is just a "graphics engine beta", but honestly I don't think its ever too early to throw in some feedback about the game. 1. I don't like that there are so few units in the start of the map. Once you have angels and golems the stream of units is pretty permanent, which means there's always combat. In the start of games, I often find myself standing still waiting for something to fight because towers are too dangerous with enemy heroes lurking wa
