Sorry, no can do. My head hurts from that massive run-on sentence. A little punctuation would help - maybe just one or two commas? Not asking for anything fancy like semi-colons...
You ended your first sentence with a preposition, your hyphen was completely unnecessary, your third setence was a fragment, and you misused your ellipsis.
Sythion
Why make your sovereign smart? You get more damage from a warrior sov and can cast all spells with 5 int anyway.
But... wouldn't you need an army strong enough to destroy the city in order to siege them? And then, why not just capture the city?

Don't agree at all that 1.1 is a complete game. Working, yes. Complete? No. Any game with broken/not working mechanics is not complete. End of story. I understand if people don't like Civ5. They gutted a lot of stuff with the thought in mind that a game can have simplified mechanics without losing strategy. I hold to this idea as well, but it's debatable whether or not they succeeded. I do think a lot of the hate for Civ5 comes from long time fans who mistake complexity for strategy,
Elemental is my little puppy, and just because he has a broken leg does not mean he's any worse than your puppy at running. If you could only see what my puppy is capable of. I love my puppy unconditionally, which is why it's the best.
Okay, but maybe you shouldn't expect yourself to objectively rate your own puppy?
I agree, but don't get ahead of yourselves. The AI has to be good before it can start being distinct. Right now if they all tried to act differently, well, it would just be 10 different flavors of terrible.
Wow. I mean... just... wow. I'm glad GameSpot will be making the decisions on most disappointing game, instead of some of the fanboys here (who are trying to appear to have a non-biased point of view by saying Elemental was a little disappointing but every other game released this year is horrible). Civ 5? SC2? Perhaps not classics, but... Just wow people.
But once you learn how to advance your adventurer level, learn not to shortly after. The spawning of monsters is actually the best thing that comes from increasing level, since it's free experience. But it's much easier to get gobs of experience beating up pathetic enemies with 2x as high of a "score" as you.
People who "play for fun" and don't actually try to do well enjoy Elemental. People who like games instead of imagination boosters don't. It might get there, but the games not enjoyable yet.
That man looks.... so happy

I appreciate a satirical comment as well as the next guy, but I don't see what's ridiculous about trying to close exploits?
King Hobbit, if you ran her in a circle around your protectors then it would have been a piece of cake.
I am also very happy with 1.1. It was awesome to see it come together after all those beta patches and user suggestions. In my city walmart has EWOM on sale for $15. With 1.1 patch out that is a complete steal. I'm giving it to all my fantasy game fan friends for xmas.
Hopefully they enjoy it, otherwise it's more of an "IOU" gift ;)
I enjoy playing a hybrid-type character, and there should be options for spells for someone who puts 1 point in int every level, starting at 10 int. High level super awesome spells should be dedicated wizard only, but having level 2 spells cost 22+ int is ridiculous.
It can happen. Research equipment first and get a guy with 4+ armor and any weapon to defend. He is invincible against any number of 3 attack spiders.
I think the idea is that items are MORE difficult to get when they cost gold (and this certainly is true at lower levels when gold is scarce). However, the gold inflation goes through the roof and there's nothing to sink the gold back into. Basically, I think if you increase maintenance enough to make it so that gold is always an important resource, this won't be such an issue. Ideally, I'd still like to see the stuff cost lots of gold AND the necessary resources.
Which is good, because The Mastery spell would be impossible to cast otherwise (100 int). Okay, it's not really good, but in addition to fixing this, int requirements need to be fixed.
So yeah, I think everyone here agrees that no amount of strategic brilliance on the AI's part is going to make up for the worst tactical AI I've ever heard of.
Some of the steamrolling comes from AI doing stupid stuff, but much of it comes from the game being so easy for a player to exploit. Armor is a huge problem right now, as is blink (as I mentioned in my previous thread). Really I think there are three things that make the AI weak vs me. Inability to accurately judge combat odds. This is exacerbated by the armor issue. Horrible tactical AI. They should be trying to bait the
I've played two games of Elemental so far since 1.1, and I'm surprised to admit, but I'm actually finally having fun playing this game! Not just learning how to play (which was the only fun element of Elemental before), but actually deciding what to do and feeling like it mattered. You guys have done a great job with the economy (though money can start to come too fast to spend still. Need to find a way to scale stuff down to keep them under control). I feel like I'm not going to win or
While this is certainly something to look out for, I don't think that's a problem here. Elemental has always been pulled in too many directions, and since release has begun to become a much more cohesive game. The opposite would have happened if the fan dumb theory held sway here. Much more people are happy now than were at release.
