Errr yeah the Oak was in this preview somewhere in a magazine, and he was depicted as having a scythe-like weapon and a shield. Very golem-like, like an animated suit of armor as they wrote. I liked the name, that's all. But if they have another guy with the name, I'll be just as happy playing that :)

Only if you order through Stardock, you'll get into the beta. Nothing else works. I'd recommend the digital download, but if you like a box and don't feel sorry for your money then shoot for that.
I agree wholeheartedly. An integrated clan system, either through Impulse or in-game+Impulse would be a great help :D

There's a persistent and a non-persistent mode. Single Player is supposed to be like an intro to Multiplayer so I expect the core system to be the same. Leveling up is done by killing others (obviously).
AFAIK yes, we'll get the stuff when the beta starts (hopefully next month). Would be good if someone confirmed though.
