Most (if not all) RTSes are peer-to-peer. I don't think I've ever seen one where you didn't have to port forward to host.
This, and it's that way for a reason.
To Innociv, PossiblyImpossible and others who think alike : Do you mean that Oak, Sedna and Erebus are good as assassins only vs Unclean Beast, or are they ok vs the others too ? If the latter, could you describe how that works ? For example, take Sedna vs any of these 3. How would you manage that ?
What I mean is that Sedna, QoT, Oak and to a lesser extent Erebus are all viable additions to a

For instance: TB has a very powerfull combo, powerfull when you get the 3 skills in ICE to c

Only thing making him ridiculous is dps with massive passive snare. It's not like his skills are amazing. Though, snipe is good for shooting at someone running away, but becomes rarely useful at level 15+. Oh, but single skills doing more than 33% slow should work. It's just stacks should on
Sure. In the short-term, I think the quickest/easiest way to make Generals more competitive would be to start Generals off with more gold so that they can choose to buy more items OR choose to buy minions. How much gold would need to be played around with. I also think their minions should be tougher but that would take more time.
Yeah, I don't think giving them more money for minion
Yea, Stardock's pretty well known for just putting out the game and doing an expansion and abandoning it. I mean, heck, I don't think we ever touched Galactic Empires or whatever the heck it's called after we shipped that bugger. We just sat back and tossed out a couple of expansion when the lease payments on our private jets came in. I mean, that's what people think of when they think of a Stardock published game

I think a good way to deal with this, as you have alluded, would be to scale rewards for kills to a much greater degree. At low levels, killing enemies should give you only a small amount of gold and experience, and the death penalty should be much, much shorter (like 5 seconds). The rewards and associated penalties, then, will scale to a greater degree as the game goes on, so that at lvl 20 getting killed means you're out for a full minute and the opponent gets 2000-3000 gold.</p
I never understand it when I see people in the beta with names with lots of extra numbers at the end, since there are totally not enough people here for there to be overlaps. Since the online component uses the same accounts as impulse/forums, and there are well more than 3,000,000 of those.... not so much
Ah. Makes sense.

Good name change, I never understand it when I see people in the beta with names with lots of extra numbers at the end, since there are totally not enough people here for there to be overlaps. Claim the good names before everybody else gets a chance at them! Haha. As for name changing once you've picked, I don't know what the policy currently is, but I think players ought to be given the ability to change their name a certain number of times, with a waiting period. Yeah, don't see why it isn't like this already TBH. The whole "player leaves, replaced with AI" thing has good intentions behind it, I'm sure, but in practice is not really worthwhile. I'd much prefer if you would simply gain control of your allies' Demigods when they leave instead of having the AI control them, but I don't know if that's really an option with the UI the way it is.

Very minor thing, but I noticed that if you quote somebody whose name has brackets at the start (such as [AC]DalzK) the html doesn't work properly and the quote box isn't shown. Not a priority by any means, but a heads up nonetheless. :)
They can to a certain extent but I think if they could hit moving targets that would be an element of op'ness.
Don't quite get your point here; you think a player should just be able to move to avoid taking any damage from Night Walkers? Seems silly.
Life leach doesn't need a cap like slow. Life leach items just need nerf You get 27% life leach too easy. If hte 15% item is 12%, and the 12% item 8%, then that's 20% instead of 7%. Should make a nice difference. UB is mainly a DPS'er and reliant on snares. With slow capped at 33% and life leach nerfed, him and regulas are nerfed by proxy. [/quo

Balance is transient; the relative power of a Demigod at a given time is not an adequate excuse to overlook individual abilities which are problematic, redundant, or poorly implemented.
I think it's perfectly fine to look to Dota and find things that they did right and implement it with the ideas that you wanted for Demigod. They both fit under the same genre as much as you might hate that :/ Why not use good things amirite? I'm not saying we should base it completely off of Dota but look at things that worked really well to make demigod something better. Isn't that what we all want a better game?
<

Actually, making maps a lot smaller doesn't much help micro either, in my opinion. Just serves to remove any of the strategy from the game that happens to be in it (which isn't a whole heck of a lot). That's why I'm not a huge fan of Prison, though many people seem to love it. Smaller maps won't increase conflict that much, either, because mobility is already such an easy thing to attain with the prevalance of teleports. People are already popping from

At least not in pickup games. Maybe it's different on the competitive scene, but Airstrikes, grenade spam, etc. mean it's alot of fun for a while without being particularly hard. I never played the competitve circuit with that game though, so maybe.. <b
