Oh yeah, Brad said.
That's cool, though I doubt they will get it out any time soon. BTW - I'm curious as to what you think I will do, Seth. Yes, I am obviously going to make a post, but I'm going to take it a little further then that. Let me put it to you this way - I am g
New Frontiers is a fan exspansion pack and Galciv 3 is the official Galciv sequel.
Do we know for sure that SD will actually make a GalCiv3?
Now for a not-so-serious post: I have heard alot about a GalCiv3. Is GalCiv3 the same as New Frontiers, or is it something completely different? ~ Cypher ~
@ Everyone who reads this thread: I've been thinking long and hard today about the current state of the forums, the Metaverse, and the interest of gamers in Galactic Civilizations II. Here's what my thinking has showed me: Galactic Civilizations II is losing popularity and it is losing its dedicated fan-support. Something has to change. As I mentioned earlier, th
That would be a player, I-Mod Stefan.
Well, if that's the case, I-Mod Stefan should get a move on things.
I know that's what you meant. Don't get me wrong - TA is awesome. It just seems like alot of the strategies that players used for DL and DA got ripped to shreds by TA. I still love the game, though. BTW - you're right - the forum's updates were pointless. ~ Cypher ~
Hey guys. I'm just curious on how the Raiders feel about the Tyranny of Evil? Are they your ally, enemy, or just kind of neutral? BTW - your empire looks pretty cool DSep - nice work! Best Regards. ~ Cypher ~
I think it can be said that it is the result of neglect and too many pointless updates. I mean, seriously - the SDC crew basically killed every good strategy that was developed in DL and DA with their updates and with TA. That may have been what turned many of the senior players off of the game. Good point Seth. ~ Cypher ~
Couldn't agree with you more, Seth. I think every GalCiv2 fan needs New Frontiers to come out, and soon. Like you said - for many reasons. ~ Cypher ~
I'm not gonna lie - this page is gettin more and more depressing every time I check it. Most of you guys seem to think that the GalCiv2 craze is over. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe this is just like the US economy? It used to be really good, but now it sucks really bad. However, it'll eventually come around, and I hope the MV and forums (and the overall love of the game) will come back around, too. Stardock or

I think your approval problem, by the looks of things, is coming from overcrowding. How high are you keeping your population? Your best planets should be anywhere between 16B and 20B people - the rest should only be from 12B to 16B. Your approval takes a gigantic penalty when there is overcrowding. Try destroying some of your farms. That will lower your population a little. If population isn't a problem, then I'm not sure
@ antracer - I totally agree with you. It would be WAY easier to have a decent border system. A major reason for this is that I get incredibly ticked off when I see that the AI is moving dozens of its military ships through my space. I also get really ticked when an insignificant AI decides to go and build starbases in my territory, or when the Thalans build ten economy starbases around my home planet's sy
@galacticdoom - You're definitely right. The Altarians have wicked PQ boosters. However, the Drath also get the Biosphere Modulator as well. I'm not sure if they get the Paradise Worlds tech, though. You can only get that tech once you align Good with the Altarians. I think it raises the PQ of every world you have by +10%. I know that the highest class that I've ever gotten was a PQ 40 world - needless to say that is ridic
Hey lethstang - I think you'll enjoy playing with the Altarians quite a bit considering that they have almost the exact same Tech tree as the Drath, apart from War Profiteering. The difference is that the Altarians, if played correctly, have the potential to absolutely crush the AI in the Research department. However, like everyone else s
Yeah. I hardly ever have a game where an evil race expands beyond their home system. Ironically, the only evil civ that ever seems to leave home is the Korx. Ahhh... the irony.
BTW - I think that the Korx aligned Good in my game because of the Mega Event that has a race completely switching its ethical standing. I distinctly remember that happening in my game - I don't remember exactly to who, but it had to have been the Korx.
I have suffered from this problem many times, too. Sometimes I find it helpful (if nobody is already at war with me) to set a "goal", such as: I will start building up my military after I research Laser II - after that I would just continue to upgrade my ship when new techs come in (not after every single tech, mind you, but after several come in that just make my old ships totally obsolete). <p
I too have had the Korx wimp out several times, but at least in my game it seems pretty random as to if they'll be strong or weak. I would split it at about 40/60 in my games (40 being the liklihood that they'll dominate; 60 being that they'll suck). From what I've observed in my games, when the Korx suck, they REALLY SUCK. However, when the Korx don't suck, they seem to be undefeatable. <span style="f
Also, depending on what research rate that you play at (i.e. slow, normal, fast, etc.), the Altarians can be one of the most powerful researching civ's in TA. It all depends on the distribution of the bonuses that you get at the start of the game. BTW - zarith makes a very good point - some of the civ's on TA have unique techs that th
Hey kryo - you're my last hope. I've seen all of the awesome things that you've done for so many people, so I'm kind of asking you somewhat directly. My problem has a little to do with activating the game, I guess. I'm mainly asking on this thread because I have already e-mailed twice about my issue, and I have waited a total of 15 days for a response - and they've said NOTHING. I know that the e-mail went through because I received my tick
Ahhh - sorry antracer - wasn't trying to make fun of you at all - I'll always try to make my font a little larger whenever you're on the post site - Again, I apologize - No hard feelings - Best Regards [e digicons]v_v[/e] ~ Cypher ~
[e digicons]^_^[/e] Yes Talesine, I now realize this, but what can you expect from two smart guys in the Tyranny of Evil??? [e digicons][/e] BTW, do you think that Soul and antracer (and everyone else) are liking the font size? [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
BTW, I totally agree with you Talesine. Very well said! [e digicons][/e] (is this font better???)
