Hello: I purchased WindowBlinds yesterday and found that in any skins other than the Default theme, the task bar in Windows 8 keeps sliding out (deploying), then sliding down (hiding) on my alternate monitors. This happens on each extended monitor/screen and each one seems to go by it's own specific rhythm; they're not in time with each other. As you might guess, this is annoying, but I'm also worried that it is causing Windows to use needless CPU resources.</p

UPDATE: I just got a response back from sales about my query. They directed me to the EULA, which I had already read and referred to in this forum thread and in my ticket. I am immediately disappointed when it seems like the most important part of my question was not received...specifically that the EULA does not spell this out and that was why I was asking the question. [e digicons]>:([/e] Well, my disappointment was not to go away anytime soon. The

Hello! I am currently trialing Fences and Windowblinds on my Windows 8 Pro desktop, and have decided that I like them both. I would like to use them on the desktop and on a Windows 8 laptop and possibly for a new single-user server using either Windows 8 or (if I can scrounge up the money) Server 2012. I do not want to use the Object Desktop applets/tools on only one computer, so my cost-benefit decision will be based on the total

Hi guys. Thanks for the advice. I'll take this under advisement the next time I try the game. [e digicons]*_*[/e] Gofan, your point about the "neutrals"... are they the grey ships that appear when pirates are turned off? If so, yep; they are sometimes the ones who swarm; other times, it's the color of one of the factions that started the game with me. Also; when starting the game via Steam, I was being presented wi

Can't edit our posts? Anyway, I just saw you said Rebellion. I'm still trying to play trinity (why move on when I can't even master this?); and I select "Sins of a Solar Empire" from the menu. I usually play as TEC because the other voices are very cartoonish and annoying. So far I've been playing only on small maps with 2 or 3 opponents. I still suspect a bug. Is there a config file I can check to see if the settings are

Hi. I don't get what you're saying...a penalty for setting AI opponents to "easy"? That can't be right. Easy is for a reason; to help me learn the game and get smoother and faster working the UI. How can I learn the game if "EASY" is really reverse-compensated to still be "normal" or "aggressive"? I've basically been building everything as fast as I can and also trying to spread out. But I only get to 3 planets/asteroid belts and bam!&nb

Hello. I can't seem to get sosa to play easy in single player. I set my opponents to easy random, but within the first 10 minutes of play, they show up with heavy frigates or even capital ships and I still only have light frigates and colonizers and I'm barely beginning to build hangar defenses for my planet. This is not so much me being a slow player or me being a bad player. I've gained enough skills now that SHOULD enable me to win the game

Hello. I've been gone from GCII for a couple years now but have been getting a hankering to play again. I've been on Windows 7 for over a year so none of my old install files are available on my hard drives. Initially, I figured it should be no sweat if I could just get Impulse installed and then I could log on. But now I see that Impulse is gone, and does not seem to be available on Gamestop's site. So what do I do now? I still

Wow, it seems I opened a can of fireworks here! This is wonderful; having an active discussion on this matter is a great thing. I need to do some more playtesting, but even so, having an "actual number" on the colony "Summary Screen" would help, EVEN IF that number is partially or wholly a product of various ability levels, race benefits, government style, good vs. evil, etc. Just seeing "+10%" doesn't help me much. Unless, that is, I take the time to go

You replied while I was typing my clarification... :) But yeah, I think I'm getting it. So if I have a choice between a power plant at "10%" of planetary production, or just adding another factory, I'm "probably" better off just building another factory. Until I reach 10 factories or have some other equivalent bonus (bonus manufacturing tiles, race bonus, etc). In other words, for the power plant to become beneficial and surpass the "break even point," (the MP va

I don't get it. For this question, assume that I'm only using "regular" Factories that show up as 6MP. Power generation units have a "10%" MP bonus. 10% of what? I need to know in order to decide if power generation is beneficial, but this only shows up as "10%" in the colony "summary" screen...there is no discrete "MP" number given. one factory? If so, is it = 6MP + 10% = 6.6

Yeah, I too would like a ship building queue. Rally points as suggested above are only a partial solution. 1. Rally points are only effective for building a fleet or group of ships that are being built by different planets...and you don't care how far apart they are. 2. But Rally Points are not effective if the ships must come from widely dispersed planet starports, especially if it's still early in the game and I haven't discovered warp drive or extensive mi

Hi. Got some questions here. I "could" figure it out with playtesting and A/B comparisons, but really that would take too much time; time that I would rather spend trying to WIN my game. ;) Q1. Do mulitple factories have an additive effect with regards to future social project building and/or military (ship) building? Sometimes it seems the answer is "yes," but other times, I'm not so sure. Q2. Assuming that the answer to Q1 above is "y
