Good insight and normally good advice, but I am already at suicidal, and I was trying to emulate Mumblefratz's game where he plays to make the highest score possible. I did decide that playing that way was just to grueling in the end.

Whoa! How do you bring in 2 million BC's? When I play huge universes, control 349 out 0f 350 planets, have population maxed out at 15 to 16 per planet, have the tax rate at 79%, and have every conceivable tile covered with a stock market I think I am still only at about 350,000 BC's a turn. What's the secret?

Knightshifter, I think a number of variables come into play, including which version of the game you are playing. For myself I like huge or larger maps, and I stick in 9 opponents and 8 minor races, the most possible. The advantage is that you get many more tech trading opportunities, and the opportunity for the most unique techs (if playing TA) this way and if you play your cards right you can keep them all battlng each other the entire game. So on big maps, I'd say load up as m

Well shucks, thanks for the positive feedback! It's always appreciated [e digicons]:|[/e] I just want to say thanks to Mumblefratz for his direct, and indirect (via the TOE site), assistance in learning me up on how to not just win, but win with a decent point total. Frankly, it's a lot more work than I want to do to go build a starbase array with 17,000 ships in it, but I've been using all the rest of his advice as much as possible. The one thing I know I do differently from

So, learning my lesson, I finished a new MV huge mumbler game this weekend, and made absolutely sure it was an MV game this time. Finished with a score of 497k! Now it's time to move on up to gigantic suicidal mumblers like the rest of you. Thanks for all the pointers on how not to waste a great score for your team by unknowingly dinking around in sandbox mode. Hey, Neilo, what's a guy gotta do to make senator around here? Neilo, Thanks for the complete guide to figuring this out. It was, indeed, user error and I found the game in the sandbox folder. Good karma to you. Thanks jacklv for the support. I'll just go do this again and make sure I am in MV this time.

Gentlemen, I need your assistance. I have spent the last week playing a huge mumbler and I just finished with a reasonable score of 455k for the ToE. However, I did not get an option to post this score to the metaverse at the game conclusion. I am pretty sure I started this game as a metaverse game, but then again perhaps I didn't as I am not getting the option to upload this score. This is pretty depressing, to see a week just go poof and disappear. Is there anyway to get this score

Oops, nevermind. I saw the first post as Jan 2008. I forgot it was 2009 and missed the entire arc of the rise and fall of the Olympian Gods. Bummer.

Oh, and yes, you still lose the transport when using information warfare and you have more colonists than you started out the battle with. The reason why is that the transport is used to build the initial colony tile. SO you ALWAYS lose the transport...it gets transformed into your colony main city.

A lot of the Iconian techs aren't tradeable, and the Torians are the guys who colonize a jillion planets and then never build any improvements on half of them.....at least in my games.

Core Detonation: Never Gas Warfare: Never Information Warfare: Almost always Mass Drivers: Never Mini-Soldiers: Love 'em, except I never have them in TA. Tidal Disruption: Occasionally Traditional Warfare: A lot My main attack is always informational unless the morale is above 80%. But there's a specific reason for this. I've been playing the Drathan's for the last month and they

Oh, I can definitely spend myself under the threshold every week. I've got a gussied up uber-dreadnought I'm building on several industrailized planets I can force buy every week. It's just gotten to that point of the game where I control everything, the AI is down to a few planets, and what once was fun has become a chore as I have to buy ships every round....I guess this is why you like the colony rush so much, Sole Soul? I agree with you...the race in the beginning to grab the best positio

I used to enjoy blowing the AI's asteroid mines to smithereens....until I realized it was better to have them switch allegiance to my glorious empire instead. I haven't yet seen the AI attack an asteroid mine and I've been playing on suicidal for a few weeks, so it's probably a rare event in general.

Well folks, I never thought I would say this about GalCiv but I have too much cash. In fact, for the first two months of playing I couldn't imagine having too much cash flow; I was so chronically short of cash so often I would horse trade my Thalan grandmothers' dirty spicules for a bent BC. Now I've landed on the other side of the fence. I'm currently taking in 70,000 BCs a week and I have nothing to spend it on. I've upgraded ships as much as feasible, the AI won't sell me any plane

Gentlemen, I've just taken over two brand new morale resources and thrown constructors at them until I got the mining bonuses to +39. Yet doing so did not affect the approval rate upon my planets....it was 74% before on my worst planet, it is still 74% now. I waited a round to see if things needed a round to pass in order to improve. No improvement. This is disappinting for two reasons. The first is that I hoped to raise my base approval across all my planets so I could comf

I'm liking the direction of this post. Willy & GD, I think you are on to something with the "set one planet to spam tiny miners". What I think would make this work particularly well, which Willy obliquely mentions, is the fact you can set the miner to "auto" and just let them do their thing. I had forgotten about this and trying to manage miners and trying to determine how far an asteroid is up the development cycle was alienating me. I'd love to have all the production points of tho

Mumblefratz, thanks for being so unbelievably helpful! I wish the search function worked so I could do a better job of finding this stuff myself. Since it doesn't though, one last teeny question regarding ending the game and checking the score every Dec 22. I assume when you do this you elect NOT to report the score to the metaverse until you have the score you like? Thinking about this made me realize that there is probably some protection built into the MV reporting engine that prev
