Might I make a few suggestions for the casting of the video? Run a compressor on the voice stream (since it appears you are voicing it post-production) to even out the volume levels a bit... during the combat section I found it difficult to hear you without turning up the volume, but during the end your voice is much louder. Believe me, this is something I struggle with in my own casting (of starcraft 2 and other things) but for a slightly different reason. The e

I am afraid I have no new models to show despite months of silence. No progress has been made on Black Sun. What times I haven't been mortally depressed I have had to invest into fixing my video media for my youtube channel and LP viewers. I have, however, released another voice demo which I will post here if you are interested. This one needs a bit of description to understand what it's about specifical
That ship i made is only just over 4000 polygons and it has no bump map layered on yet, with it, it looks sweet. What is the Maximum polys can a Sins model hold?
4k is pretty tiny. Sins can handle 50k. I have many models at nearly that size ingame without any problems, but anything over and the converter will not handle it.

Here's a question for ya to start things off. Well, actually, it's more like several questions. Question 1 I want to remove Influence entirely. I guess the easiest way to do this would be to remove the distance-based influence loss on planets and then all related modifiers. I'm not sure where the best place to start this would be. Question 2 I think part of this is cont

Something a bit different than modeling for you today. This is a sound engineering demo mostly, showcasing some of the experiments I have done in the past months, as well as some of the unused lines in the Black Sun: Salvation Episode 0.

Some minor updates to the Gaverrah as I try to remember how to model again. Added forward Beam coverage and cleaned up a few spots. Making those forward beam drivers was ten times as stupidly difficult as I had hoped it would be, and they still don't look anywhere near what I wanted. I expect insane amounts of beam clipping ingame from the weapons firing through the ship. Oh well... maybe one day a space RTS will come out that will b

Well, I'm just saying. If you ever wanted to release a mod and didn't want to go through the hassle of one of those crappy file-sharing services and didn't want to put your bros through it, either... I can probably help a bro out. ;)

You don't need to sign up for a file sharing service. Just give me a ring and transfer me the file over AIM, and I can put it on my webspace for you. Free of charge, no wait times, and usually quite reasonable speeds (1.5meg/sec for me). Unless your mod is like 10gb and you expect to have hundreds of downloads, anyways.

On some of the mechanics in this world, Building worlds. Building the concepts and mechanics behind them to make them believable, to make them unique, to bring life to them. I have spent my entire life building this particular world. It is tenatively called the Lour Saga. The novel itself is Throne of Armageddon, the first of a trilogy. This trilogy barely scrapes the surface of the world, though. I am 23 years old. I mean it when I say I have spent my entire

Well, I can't UV or texture anyway, so I'm not too worried about that. Last time I tried Zbrush, though, it gave me a hernia. I couldn't even figure out how to place Zspheres, and that was after watching video tutorials. Blargh. Definitely don't have a digital pen or anything like that.

While I pretend to do something useful but avoid all opportunities of being productive, here's some info about the Undead to read about. Again, mostly old writing, but perhaps will give you an idea of what those glowy pointy ships are all about. As part of a greater plot, Gull secretly dealt with individuals who conspired again

I justify some sound in my verse through psionics. Psionic-based weapons produce a "sound" that those with sensitivity to psionics can "hear". But it's a lot different than what you'd expect. UD Beam weapons produce a very deep, droning hum + a high-pitch pulse as they produce elemental radiation and vaporize planets. Everything else wouldn't produce sound this way, of course. Even races without sensitivity to psionics could hear the sound from very potent psionic weapons, as long

Nothing new to show for the past while... depression kills modeling quite dandily. I'll show you one of the Xy flagships that's currently ingame, though. It has no stats or anything yet, but... yeah. If I get them playable, this will be a ship to watch out for.

My science fiction universe can beat up your science fiction universe! I love crossover discussions. They never cease to entertain. :) In all seriousness, if you ignore the ram limit, so long as two projects have their resources named intelligently there would probably be very little pain getting them to play nice together in most areas. You would need to do manual copy pasta in certain files that act as master files e.g. the sound effects entity and music and su
