Are injuries a FE-only feature?

Question or Suggestion regarding viewable map versus minimap in FE Beta Elemental Forums

This drove me insane in WoM. If I begin a game and scroll directly up (towards the top of my monitor), expecting to move North in the map. Yet according to the mini map, it looks like I'm moving North West. This confuses me greatly.
