This game has a black hole of advertising, lol. Such a shame, because it's a great game. :( no advertising + bad metascore = FAIL Normally it shouldn't be like this, but this is the way it is today. The avg Joe is a lot stupid than me or you and buys games based only on those two factors.
The reviews I've seen seem to have a trend. They love the gameplay or recommend the game, and then give it a not-great score.
Because of the broken multiplayer. From 1up review: "At the moment I'm writing this, Demigod's multiplayer is just plain busted" "Personally, I'm looking forward to playing more when that shining day arrives, at which point I'll be re-reviewing the thing ."

Neah...When the enemy team has only the crystal left, then i think it's good that's indestructible, it's their last hope, lol. Seriously, you should have tried destroying their citadel and take control over their last portal. If they choose to sit near the crystal, they will lose by citadel destruction. If they come to defeat the citadel, they're out of the range of the crystial, so you and your team should kill them and then, when they are dead, destroy their citadel.

The speed is OK, imo. Rook's hammer attack is fine the way it is now, because it has a large AOE and it's mainly for creep killing. You can kill players with it, they don't necessarily need to be noobs, they could be frozen or stuned by a team player, for example. Tha maps are symmetric for a reason. The same thing was in DOTA. But i agree they could put, on some maps, trees or something so they don't look so plane. Maybe a map with 2 or 3 levels, with some sort of bridges...Anyway, i

Ohh :O. I see now. Thanks for clarifyng that to me. I understand that a patch was issued to correct this, right? Too bad the harm was done allready... About the demo, they could have build one, with just 1 map and 2 or 3 demigods, for skirmish mode only. It's still better than none.

Why the cd key isn't use for connecting to an online MP? It's allready there for registering the game and getting updates, so why not for online play? What happend was a really hard blow for the game, imo...Now people think the game is buggy and won't buy it (at least for now); Gamespot review trashed the game because of this; and all the rest of the publishers now will rethink their strategy for the need of a strong DRM. Really bad stuff. :( Oh, and not releasing a demo for it was a
And to be 100% sure it hasn't changed since the new Impulse update, I did the test: I started Impulse (to make sure there wasn't any new updates), copied my GalCiv2Ultimate folder to a USB key, plugged the key to my Laptop (which isn't connect to the net and on which Impulse nor any SD games never were installed), then I double clicked on the GalCiv2.exe, and........ the game started without any problem or question, no asking me to activa
But if you don't have any Internet connexion available at all, how are you supposed to be able to patch the game?
I've said it before: With a standalone manual patch, you could get it from anywhere: friends, dvds. It's about freedom of choice, that should come with a DRM free game. No net connection, no obligation to install a third party software.

I for one don't understand one aspect of Goo: Where does it phone home? If it's to the publisher X, how can anyone tell if that X won't disappear in the future? Oh, and one more thing: Why is the retail Demigod marketed as a non-DRM product, when in fact it is, because you need to register it online (and dnl an additional soft), in order to get the deserved support (patches that correct bugs). If i buy the retail dvd of Demigod, and i don't have internet access*
I actually did that for all the games I bought on Impulse (only three and two being Stardock games) I download and install them on my old secondary computer and then copy them to my gaming computer and I am able to play them without needing to reactivate them, heck I don't even have impulse installed on this computer ..
How can you do that?
