FULL value? Oh that changes everything. That means in 3v3, a captured portal is 3 TIMES as valuable. On average, each hero gets 2/3 of a portals worth of xp, optimally. With this, you'd actually be getting 1 and 1/3, where a full 1 of that is automatic. And the gold production of that portal.. wow. It is like everyone on your team tagging every creep that spawns... how hard is that normally?

In summary: Percentile reduction effects increase in value per percent at an exponential rate. Percentile production effects increase per percent at a linear rate. There is not limit to how much bigger something can be, but as you approach 100% reduction you also approach zero damage. I think the better way to consider armor, is to take your health, H, subtract the ability damage of an opponent, A, and then with that difference, apply armor/evasion. (H-A)*

You are correct ese-aSH. It is not always worth it to get the last point in summon shambler, generally depending on how much AoE the opponent has available. If you are worried of losing all at 'once' or over a short amount of time, then yes. Otherwise no.

I know you get xp from holding an enemy portal. The problem is, it still doesn't math in your favor. Basically, your team gets the same xp they would have gotten from killing the troops, but so does the opponent. Basically means you get 2 portals worth of XP, and your opponents get 3 portals worth. Not quite as bad as 3 ports to 1, but still obviously slower xp than otherwise.

What if capture lock stacks could only hold one? I think they are an integral part of the game to be honest, as they represent a low cost strategic option for a team that may not otherwise have levels/gold. They can balance things quite nicely. I think We should have two varieties of teleport scrolls, just like healing potions. Combat Teleports which take 1 second to cast, but cost a bit more, and only teleport a short range (Batswarm level 2 range). Let you get out of combat, b

Yeah, I hate it when I'm killing towers, and creeps hit on me. Amber Alert! You would have both gotten xp, but only you got gold. You also wasted a powerful item on killing weak creeps that your teammate could have easily killed. It is about the equivalent to Hammer Slamming creeps early on (Later on, it can be necessary). That said, There really isn't any excuse for him quitting. A mistake by a teammate, that isn't on the 'you just whiped the

I would like to point out that posted replays will have a bit of a bias, so take things with a grain of salt. That said, aggregated data in some kind of spreadsheet form would be awesome. Toobad you have to manually watch each replay to get the data out. One of the crippling problems WITH demigod is that there are very much a 'crust' of players who are considerably better than others. Afterall, most times you are afraid of being paired with 'noobs' or 'poor' players.

playgroundlegend, Please, stop trying to help. Creating an entire post about an item, recently buffed, that is filled with conjecture about numbers you aren't even sure of, is really just going to dilute a thread intended to be high impact.

My first 10 levels look like: 3 points in bite 2 points in swarm 4 points in charm 1 point in poisoned blood. Batswarm 2 is so ridiculously good for assassin's, as well as speeding along the game towards the end, allowing you to close in on portal flags fast. I think Charm is really the spell you get to define you as an Assassin Erebus. Everyone get's bite, most everyone get's bat swarm, but charm is what competes with Coven/conversion aura for

I think you are right Sarmis, unless there was an actual plan for how to deal with the citadel that early. Like, Ground Spikes + Minion swarm or something. Too bad it isn't easier to test these kind of things.

The Dao of Hammer Slam: If you would slam, and that slam would miss, you must abort. If an opponent would try to disrupt your Hammer Slam, Boulder Roll first. The Dao of Boulder Roll: If you would like to get closer to an opponent, or help an ally get closer or run from an opponent, than you should Boulder Roll. If you would like to Slam an opponent who is already close by, than you should Bould Roll. If you would like to close on

Doesn't really require that much text to describe it. Erebus gets significantly stronger units for far fewer ability points. It isn't even that QoT's shamblers can't get to be okay, but rather that it takes much more for them to get there. Even Mulch Shambler, a skill that looks awesome doesn't break down so well when you realize it requires a second skill. Compare Heal 2 vs Mulch Shambler 1 and Shambler 1: Mulch costs 250, and the 450 to summon the shamble

An interesting idea actually. The real question is how well you would do vs a 3v2 + tower scenario. Honestly, towers do decrease in strength rapidly as the number of targets increase. Just to hypothesize: Rook + Sedna + Erebus Rook has the Wrath and towers. Sedna/Erebus both have monks, and Rook has towers and slam, and outlevels everyone due to getting 1 and a third lanes worth of xp for himself. Push health flag of course to maximize your overbearan
sorry to hijack your thread [shakenbake], since it is in the strategy section, i thought i might add this replay, instead of creating a new thread about how to play rook. i will remove this post if you want me to just had a game as a juggernaut rook, afew nice slams and saves. kalel also played a nice tower rook build in this game. should be good for those learning how to play rook. <br /

Replays: If the character you are observing in a Replay dies, the 'death sound' that normally plays when you are dead starts playing. However, it doesn't stop playing ever, and will be in the background of the music until end of game. To get this to happen, you MAY need to switch to observing another player while 'dead' so that the come back to life event never triggers. Replays: Shop and citadel screens popping up... This is likely not a bug, but it may be a bad

NOTE TO READER: Two items are often discussed that can be hard to notice because they are similar: NARMOTH'S and NIMROTHS The first is a 4000 gold trinket, the second is a piece of armor for 1500 gold, both give large boosts to defensive capabilities. Both good items, but don't mix their praise/condemnations together or you might miss out. By the way, I think that this thread is not a good way to determine good/bad items. I

I think the argument is generally NOT about tower vs Slam. THey are completely compatible. The real question is tower vs.. say, God or Trebuchet. Picking up some points, maybe just one in tower for the teleport target and early lane holding, is very good and helps you control war score and get telefrags.

An interesting game, your team was definitely stronger. The opposing rook was generally the best player on their team, and sedna was clearly the worst. No priests, very little health, she spent most of her combat mana on heals, instead of good things. I think you fairly well illustrate the difference between a tower rook and Slam rook. Early on, the tower rook is clearly doing better than you. He's taken down the towers on both sides of the map, and gotten at least one kil

BotS definitely works with ooze. It is pretty darn awesome. A few of my opinions on the BotS vs BotF discussion: The blood is really the early game item, and the BotS is the late game item. You will need to play more cautiously early on, obviously, without the BotS (Something I sometimes forget hehe, if I switched recently). Late game, however, the Blade gives you so much mana, you can chain use very mana instensive abilities, and always be ready for another grasp

The unfortunate thing for arguments about game balanced, is that they are almost always initiated by people with very little credibility or thought. I mean, UB is one of the best DG's, it may even be he's too powerful. But when the opening argument is something like "Spit is 2 gud, my armor desn't help!" very little time is spent rebutting the point. My general opinion is that the Beast/Sedna combo is, or has been, the best, and win more often than any other 2. It is sim
Plate visor is good on maps with +mana/sScaled helm is useful on others. j
Scaled helm gives +4 mana per second. In order to get that from +35% you would need to be having a base MPS regen of ~11.4. Scaled helm ALSO gives 525 mana raw though, which is worth a fair deal, often more than the +4 mps is (takes ~131 seconds of regen from the helm to get that much).
