Yeah, I was being a sarcastic troll, and I'm sorry for the way I am. I like the guy a lot, but its frustrating that he is the aparrently the only influence for balancing decisions in this game. Pacov seems to think there is a balance team at GPG who decides what needs changing but I believe from what I've read on this forum that he is mistaken on what they do. I believe from what Sorian and Frogboy have posted, that they just work on any changes that Stardock requests.
nerf tier1! im with you!
Sorry mate, last time I heard Frogboy say anything about the issue, he stated that Erebus at least was fine... and since conventional wisdom states that Erebus >>> Oak > UB > The Others I would have to assume he believes Oak is fine as well. He plays Erebus and Oak almost exclusively so I'll trust his opinion on the matter.
With this logic, why haven't I played any games that use the TB AA fix Mod? TB is an legitimately UP demigod and this mod helps him out a little and fixes a bug that exacerbates a balance issue. But no one uses it for the reason that they never use any other Mod that needs to be downloaded by all parties in the game: Its a crappy, poorly designed system thats too much of a pain in the ass to use.
Nope. I think he's right... making a true support demigod like the Queen better will only help her when played with the tier one combos she already does pretty well with. Even if they buff her up to be on par with the big three, it won't do much for me. I can already play her well with elite demigods on my side and would like to be able to select her when I have a Reg/TB/DA on our side without really gimping my team too bad. Though... maybe if they just buffed up
I'm coming around to Lifekatana's point of view... lemme see if I can sum it up real brief like: Queen is crap when played alongside crap demigods but is less crappy than the other crappy demigods when played alongside the elite demigods. She is deadly in the right hands when played by a very good player playing with other very good players on his team who are using top tier demigods by helping them hunt down crappy support demigods or swinging the tide during a 3v3 rumble with
the only thing i've ever seen a queen do is team-shield and thorns. maybe other builds exist, but this seems to be the heavy favorite. the sednas i've played generally have equal or greater offensive capacity, and they're supposed to be "the" support character. a shield boost would be fine, sure, but it would just further ingrain the cookie-cutter build, right?
There used to be a movement for Queen to get re-worked
He's the one Demigod I've never really even experimented with, but my experiences has been pretty good with having one on my team as long as he's got a good build that doesn't include Warp Area. He's not a "tier one" demigod but the way the game is played nowadays makes your team's demigod selection rather limited. You can have two Demigods on your team that are Oak, Erebus, or Unclean Beast. Then you can have the third Demigod one of the other 6 "Support" class demigods.

Lifekatana: Gosh, don't even know what we're argueing about, we completely agree! -Yes the Queen is a wonderful Demigod... as long as you have two of the three top tier demigods on your team... and, as long as the other team has a couple non-top tiers for you to help abuse by snaring with Spike Wave and de-armorizing with Groundspikes. -Yes, Ground Spikes is a wonderful ability... as long as your buddies are covering you while you're open... and as long as you're not goi
You're probably a better player than me lifekatana, but you'd be at enough of a disadvantage by choosing the queen. By the way, I don't build tower farms passed level 4. In my experience with the queen, she runs in with a shield, deals some damage, the shield falls, her health bar drops by half in 1.5 seconds, and she is forced to retreat. She can do pretty well by maintaining a shield early game, but later she's cannon fodder.[/quo
I'm all about kiting with the Queen and do so very effectivley early on. I use her early game advantages of superior mana/hp regen and ranged AOE attack to their fullest to wear down the enemy dgs and can usually be a nice asset to my team and still get curr for them. However, later on once the other teams oak gets Pent IV to pop my shield and slow me down right when Erebus swarms in out of nowhere to bite and stun me... yes yes, stuns suck for everyone but IMO far more for the

Right now no one counters her properly because they usually don't feel t

Recently Frogboy expressed a desire to have GPG "show the queen some love" in a future update and I'm starting this thread to share my ideas on making Queen a viable choice in higher level games. I would love to hear any criticism of my ideas that you have or you putting down your own suggestions of how to help balance the QoT, but please don't put down "Queen of Thorns is fine, I lost a game to a team with her the other night. Synn, I was playing TB quite a bit before and if I learned one thing from the experience its not to use auras with a hybrid. IMO you just gravitate to whatever form (which is good cause its prolly keeping you alive) your aura was in and the alternate skill/s become somewhat neglected. If they ever fix the TB AA then conceivable Fireball/Fire Aura/ROI/BlotS might be pretty deadly but until then just go with Teseer's build or go pure fire or ice if you really love auras. <p
Hahahhaa! I love it! I work 24 hour shifts at my job, so we like to bet cooking days sometimes but this would be so much worse! I joined a pug game today and saw that the host was 0-12. Instead of just leaving, I politely explained that he should probably put "noob" in his game so he could play with other beginners because its only a fun game for everyone if everyone knows the basics. He only had two words to say to me, and it wasn't "Thanks buddy!" [e d
Thes guys are right... should be able to host your own beginner games which you will enjoy and learn more from than getting stomped by people who know how to play. Also, I hope you can understand that the player base is a lot better quality people than you think at this point. What you have to understand is that it takes a long time to get a game going. People come and go in lobbies for what seems like forever... some are looking for a stacked game that can make their reco

Yay! Frogboy answered my post... this is by far my best Christmas present! Ummm... no one tell my girlfriend I said that. Yeah, I've read a lot of posts about how to buff QoT that kinda make me shake my head... beta has been done for a while guys, let's suggest things that are possible. I vote #1. It seems like the universal skill in most of her builds, and if you're bold enough to try a build that don't have it people will yell
I was happy to see that you still feel that the QoT needs a boost, but disappointed to see you think she is actually a "powerful demigod in the right hands." I play the Queen as much as I can, and in about 75% of the lobbies my picking her brings either groans of disgust from my teamates or threats to quit the lobby if I don't change demigods. If the situation is right, I can usually change peoples minds about her, but I'm getting the chance less and less nowadays. You see
I'm starting a clan called the Pacov Possey! But Pacov isn't allowed to join. Hmmm... on second thought maybe I'll name my clan something else. "Oh no! Its the pee pee clan!" just doesn't sound very intimidating.
Can we have meetings and talk about the low self esteem issues that causes us to play sucky demigods? One day I hope to feel like I'm a good enough person to deserve to exclusively play tier one demigods like Frogboy! But until then...
