1 point of shield can defend you from a crunch power eg: hammer slam or fireball. It is probably the most important power to get good with on Oak, as it is the difference of winning or losing a confrontation.

I dunno, I hate health stacked reg with mines and scope. He's not a tank, but he's a pain to kick out of a lane. (Is this what they were doing? you didn't really elaborate specific skills) I also dunno why you are complaining about maim, that is a fail build if taken early too, who do you think Reg is? UB? :) The only thing you should be focusing on chewing up are creeps as Oak. It's not your team mates job to use a weak build in order to help you get kills early on, but it is yo

I think the biggest problem of all the problems is the bite life transfer. If it was say 1/2 (not dammage done, but life received to erebus), you'd be able to harm him. Everything else can be dealt with, but 600 or even 775 heal + damage is alot to cut through when you factor in a life item stack, and priests.

Maybe they should make it a favor item. 65 second cool down (so you get 20 seconds of sigil, and then the standard 45 second cool down) Might be Imba with 20 seconds, but 10 is to low. So maybe test 20, but be willing to make it last 15 seconds if 20 prooves to powrful. Might be a new tower rook favorite

What? How does that make sense, if you don't have sigil and someone does, you will surely lose the fight. Simply make the fight look good, and at the end of it engage sigil, if your opponent can't do the same, that is alot of new HPs to have to fight through.

These are all basic questions that are answered in the strategy guides, but I will answer since we like to help new people. Without life you can't stay in your lane and regen next to a tower after a few engagements. If you lose the lane, you lose the XP provided by creeps and give your opponent an opportunity to attack your towers. The trick is to at least be in the general vicinity of a dying creep wave to get XP if you can't kill them all on your own. I don't see Plenor and

Well, let's be honest here... most every other DG in the game is offspring from the fallen god. So uhhh... yeah, not sure what angle StarDock is trying to promote with DA and Occulus. ;)

DA sucks at holding lanes against real builds and he sucks at farming. (this is not to say that he can't do it, but you need to understand how the games works to use DA well) So... DA is not for new people and he does best when there is an odd number of players on each side. (3vs3 or 5vs5) When he gets higher he is great at ganking other DGs since in an odd player game there is always going to be a 2vs1 or 3vs2 situation often. You should always have 1 point in Swap, b

Oak vs QoT is always hard since Oak can do everything you can do only better. Shield? Check. Snare? Check. Debuff armor? Check. And then some Heal minions and self through AoE skill? check Improve minions with AoE damage skill? Check You should never win as QoT vs Oak in a 1on1 situation unless you are a better player. At best you will draw if you are both good players. INfact, if you want to be an awesome Oak player... play QoT Shield/Spike/Wave/Morale/Idols buil

Interesting... so I was inaccurate. I will mod my post after looking at gold provided to the enemy for killing the waves that come out, but it still looks like a bad idea early on and losing a lane is always a bad thing. I am interested in seeing if giving the enemy 2 waves of XP and creep gold is worth the extra ticks of gold and free XP for 1 wave for holding the portal for 2 waves. (which is usually what you get early in the game if you time it right when the other DGs are distracted)

My Assesment: Stay in the 2 creep lanes at all costs, even if you lose a flag and need to retreat to your tower. It is easy to get outleveled by 2-3 levels on cataract if you don't get your creep kills. If this happens you are dead. If your opponents leaves the lane(preferably forcibly :)), kill the creeps, get centre flag after. If you have the centre flag, work over the 1st tower in the lane. You can also run up past the centre flag and get the creeps to chase y

Warp Area is stiuational, and becomes really obnoxious at the last level (haha 1400 and then 8 strikes all around the general) but I don't think it is DA's weakest skill. eg: You can usually use it on a fleeing general to get right next to the general, you follow the chain of minions and end up hitting the general last. Or, against ranged DG or Generals, they usually end up fighting next to priests, so you warp area and take out the priests. Or with EoM you c

Another new fun thing to try. Essence of magic. You can pull a 2, 1, 3 combo in the allocated time for some serious mana free damage output, and be right next to your target. This lets you stack health and not worry so much about mana if you are wise. eg: Do this to engage an enemy at the edge of your spine range Sigil -> Essence of Magic -> Spine Strike -> Warp Strike -> Warp Area. Carnage occurs, and then you start the fight f

Can someone tell me if a DG passive crit chance will work on your powers? I've done 1300 ish damage with a spine attack before. If I am not seeing things, then Spine Strike / Warp Strike / Crit Passive are the skills you favor.

Read the strategy compilations and pick one that sounds fun to you. Follow the basic build and strategy, but above all else LEARN NOT TO DIE. Life + Regen items are your best bet when learning. Some advice on things not to play as a beginner. If you pick to learn QoT and play well with her, your other DGs will suffer for it. Fire TB is also easily interruptible, so is hard to play against good players. You'll think you're doing well learning fire TB, and some warping O

The solution is easy as I see it, pick a light side and a dark side character on the pantheon screen (2 characters should be optional, you should still be allowed to only pick 1 if you really want a dark/light game, but then you wait). Whichever one gets in game first is the side you fight on. This will still allow light/dark sides and will get you in game fast.

I have to admit I have been having fun playing with a demon assasin teamate as QoT. ( since everyone is playing DA it seems, and note: fun doesn't mean viable, we don't know enough yet about DA since we are all inexperienced with him) But... Shielding really allows the gank follow up as he goes in with the warp strike behind the towers on a spiked enemy. Also, since the QoT Spike / Idol build is awesome at taking down towers, I'll ta

I can tell you that the good Oaks I fear the most have shield and cloak of the night. They give a little up at the start of the match by not taking blood of the fallen, but make up for it with the ability to super gank later on.
