There's a reason for both of those problems. The first, with the timeout window. Just because someone has started to timeout doesn't mean they've dropped. Even somebody with a perfectly good connection could find themselves timing out from time to time. In order to confirm that someone's actually dropped from the game, without a) accidently dropping anybody from the game and b ) affecting gameplay for the person who is timing out, the game needs to stop for a reasonabl
Nah it wasn't you. But the fact that you could be losing that badly in both towers and kills and come back to kill everyone reflects badly on the game's balance.
Just as a side note, I disagree with this sentiment. I think it reflects WELL on the game's balance that you can't chalk a win up to kills/towers/cit upgrades. It's a more complex game than just being able to win with some formulaic way to win.

As a quick warning though, some international players have had some problems with connectivity with people in other countries, but not a lot. It's getting better, and they're developing proxy servers to help with the problem further, but I hope to see you in-game!

Ha! I didn't even realize that. Well no wonder those two are so high on the ladder, they always play together. What a coincidence. Just one more reason to disregard the ladder. More seriously though, the kicking is annoying. It should be put on a timer, and if you can't connect wiithin a reasonable amount of time (at the moment, that's like... a minute or two), you can choose to kick them.

This was mentioned in another thread, I can't quite remember where, but if you'd notice, maps aren't the tile-based system you see in games like Warcraft 3, etc. They're each custom designed and rendered, and not as modular as they are in those games, so that's where that stands. That being said, a lot of the code in the actual game is pretty open-source. If you know much about programming, and were so inclined, you could pretty easily go in and fiddle with the code, which

Hey Frogboy, a logistical question. I see a LOT of people posting bug reports here on this forum, and it's kind of a lot to digest. Would you prefer that people post on current/new threads, and forward you (being the Stardock/GPG team) over to the thread where there's already discussion about it? I know this probably won't happen, but a question that I figured warrented asking.

Proximity: I don't know LUA at all, and it's finals week, so I don't have the time to look atm, but do the computer agents have local state? I know a lot of the time, AI doesn't need to remember things, especially if it only needs to analyze what's currently happening. If there's no local state, it would be extra hard to track enemy DPS, whether they've used interrupts, and even the location of the towers, depending on what sensors have been built in (if it can only see what

You might as well get a message that says "game cannot continue", because it's impossible to continue playing anyway.
The problem is that there is no clear "expected" way to handle this. The reason it desyncs is because one game client thinks one thing happened,

Impulse isn't Steam, for the record. Just to point out, Steam came out in 2003, and didn't come out with the "Steam Community" until 2007. That means no steam friends list, no ingame browser, no outside friends list you can use as an IM program, etc. Impulse isn't even a year old. Some of these features are being worked on in Demigod, like the ability to PM other players, join their games, create clans, etc., but you can't expect a brand-new content delivery system to

In the end, it's a game. If you're not the type that's gonna have fun losing, feel free to quit. I don't like it, and think its more fun when my teamates stick it out to the end. Case and point, on dominate the other day, I thought we were done. The enemy had catapaults and giants for a good 4 or 5 waves when we got giants, they had nearly all the flags, were grabbing the portal flags, when my teamate (who had stuck it through) and I broke through and took the majori

Well then maybe everyone dropped into their own games and only one of them counted. But I can almost guarantee that the game that counted was one that was played to its conclusion and recorded. It's kind of a tough problem to deal with, since you can't just count all of the games, and you can't just not count the games, because then people could drop to avoid getting a losing record. You're right, it's a problem that should be looked at, but it's just how the game works at t

Demigod isn't shutting down properly on my machine. When I exit Demigod any time after playing a game, the process stays in the background, eating up a good 500 MB of memory, and I can't end the process manually through the task manager. It also keeps me from re-running Demigod, since the process is there, Demigod thinks its already running. I AM running Windows 7 beta (build 7068), so it might be a windows issue, and it's no huge problem, but I figured you should know.
