Huh. Maybe I'll just play with Economist and Fortifier then. But are you sure that it had nothing to do with my playing with Small fleets? Cause in the game I played where I did get envoys I had it on Normal fleets.

Ah. I was doing an FFA with 3 players; me, a researcher Advent, and aggressor Vasari. All in their own star systems. No envoys from either. However, they did immediately go to war with each other, and I did have small fleets settings...

I enjoy making maps too, I'll answer your questions best I can: From my experience, the plasma storm particle doesn't run unless you zoom in to look at it. Models, from what I can tell, don't render unless you're zoomed in close enough to see them instead of just the icons. The simple number of stars and planets DO increase processor needs. Pirate bases, doubly so. I don't know what you mean there.</str
