I disagree completely with the OP, and think the tech you are going for is unnecessary. I love the eXpand part. I quickly snatch up hospitals for the pop bonus build those and slowly work on approval techs to keep me in the 100%. If you want to tech up first you will find its just a slower process and the AI will pwn you since its empire is wide vs yours being tall. Very contrary to other titles like civ where wide is crap and you have to build tall. If you really
I would at least like the option to tell a starbase to continue building the same type of ship automatically, like you could do for planets in GC2.
I agree. there are times when I want a certain amount other times, early game, I just want as many as I can make, ie early expansion, but only until I run into the opposing races, then I start to know how many ships I need to finish my expansion.
I'd also like to build multiple construction mods on a single ship so I dont have to micro a million constructors. Then I might use starbases...
that could be interesting, maybe a part of the extreme planet system and certain races are naturally better, but not perfect like the non-extreme worlds we currently only have, than other races on certain types of planets.
Is it possible to show the best planets to colonize. I know it was possible in GalCiv II but could not find the attitude now.
I played GC2 extensively, but I'm not sure what you are referring to exactly?
I think having the AI remember your behavior from past games violates the idea of a new game being a clean slate.
My thoughts exactly, but if it was optional for others why not. Personally I would never have interest but to each their own. I do think money/resources could be spent developing other game features personally.
Is s learning AI really possible? How about on GV3's budget? AI bonuses is really the cheap way to go, otherwise multi-player. As far as having ships destroy ground buildings. It seems something that should be doable in the "real world" but being a video game I hope not because I don't want to have a fleet come in at a time I'm vulnerable and wipe out all my stuff taking 30-40 turns to rebuild or even more in the late late game. Can you imagine having to rebuild ever
When is beta 3?
I agree with Darca, we are getting 100+ majors. Its basically the same thing. If you want some races "dumbed down" decrease the AI intelligence. If you want more races increase the races, if you want some races to not colonize increase minors.
I bet they will sell it but the value of the ship should be set waaaaay higher. I think building manufacturing tech capitals is a exploit now too because you can start them on all your planets, when you should only have it on one. The option to build does not go away until one is completed but it does not stop any in progress. Same for the ideological buildings. What do you do will your econ? fast build ships ect?
I was just wondering what some other people do for early game strategy. I like to bolster my population and colony count personally. I usually reload until I can have at least 3 colones attached to my first star-base, after settling then I tech to xeno biology grabbing xeno growth along the way. I go good when settling colonies for the happiness modifiers. By now I put all my sliders to manufacturing on planet and manually make my original star-base colonies produce colony ships, after they h
The ai is pretty stupid as is now, dont defend planets and pile all their ships up in one pile. I just droped the dregin empire in one turn with just my transports
Anybody know when Racial Abilities are being released?
Nice, so if its disabled for beta then this is just a placeholder and grossly unbalanced until cloaking goes live? Do you see Cloaking Device in the tech tree somewhere? Or did you fin that in the game files?
It was a "galactic event," called "The Scout." The dialogue was something like: "You find an alien looking at your planet and quickly surround it. Then you find out the alien is from across the galaxy looking around and in a cloaked ship." Then you get the three options of what to do (good, evil, neutral). I remember two of the bonuses, unlocking cloaking device and +50% engineering research, mostly because I thought the +50% engineering research was op and if the cloaking was not real how se
Has anyone else received this event? For pragmatic it says that it unlocks cloaking device. I thought I read cloaking devices were not going to be in the game.
is that intended? gv2 your ships would pop out of the planet
This would be very helpful, hope dev read this
when is beta 2 patch?!!
I have had the same issues with numbers 2 and 3. I am not sure if number one is a bug or you just ran in a deficit some how.
I seem to crash a lot when messing with star bases and I am not sure the cause.
There has always been a way to increase the speed that research is done, but why is that the only thing we can manipulate. Why not industry or military construction or even tax revenue? Its not like it would break the game to the players advantage because the Ai would have the same advantage. The research speed is there for players that like blazing through research. What about us players who hate constructing buildings and waiting for them to finish? What if you just want to have tons and to
ts to only one or two. I can understand not wanting us to seriously exploit this mechanic, but couldn't this limit be scaled to the galaxy size?
Depends on your galaxy settings, I have had 7 planets in the 6 tile range. If you have worlds set to rare then it is just the consequence of that setting.
I wonder if anyone will make a spreadsheet
