Alright. Its time to end this. Brad needs a name for the damned book, and it is our duty to deliver a name for the book. As far as the game goes, my vote goes for a custom name. What you choose for currency will be displayed as the string for currency in every situation, so you don't need to know tons of different names of currency. This would be a purely cosmetic decision. If this is not applied to the game, I will make this humble suggestion from my analysis of the world of elemental.

The suggestions by the OP seem fine to me, I honestly don' think it matters. My own suggestion would be Attero. I support the ability to name your own currency, and it'd purely a cosmetic feature, of course. Factions having their own currency would make sense as well, as long as the different currency has a 1:1 ratio at all times....I don't want to have to take inflation into account in a TBS fantasy game.

I wish i was the smartest person ever. Granted. You are the smartest person ever. You discover the secret to immortality through nanotechnology and members of various religious institutions arrive at your doorstep with lethal weaponry to kill you before you finalize your findings. They proceed to kill you in 397 different ways with the multitude of weapons at their disposal. I wish society forever abolished the use of money.

The civilization series is great, and I'll probably buy civ V just to see where they decide to take it, but Civ IV was a combat simulator junkie's worst nightmare. An army of archers should NEVER EVER EVER defeat an army of Industrialized Artillery....sigh. That was really my only problem with the game...that and you end up pissing off everyone as a result of simply trading with other players. You are practically forced to make enemies in that damned game. I have yet to find a strategy that i

Lol you guys have ruined my childhood dreams and ambitions. I am off to a field that is (hopefully) more centered on the individual rather than the group. Writing, here I come(maybe I'll write a newyork times best seller in my basement in 9 days and reshape society as a whole with the conjuration of only 30,000 words).

O btw, THX for your input guys! I will be sure to check all of those sites out within the next few months(school, ugh). From what you guys are telling me, Game Designers are one of two things, either programmers or artists. I was under the impression that there are jobs that entail making decisions on what is in the game and how the game is played. I don't know If I'll be too good at programming and art. I could always go to writing, but its just not the same as being an active member of a ga

I want to be involved with the story(writing), concept art(maybe the modelling, too), I MIGHT want to work with programming(I only enjoy programming I am good at, custom script is so freaking enjoyable), gameplay progression etc... What I REALLY want to work in is how the game is played. What would the official title be for that? I want to work in developing levels, how the levels are played, what you do to play the game, the story and how it is revealed, the kinds of artwork that are

Everything seems fine, except that a level1 caster shouldn't be able to use max lv charm. Casters should have to gain experience and lv up before they can cast rediculously powerful spells. LV 100(100 strength?) charm should require a lv 50 caster or something of the like. If you did this, you wouldn't have to factor in the level of the caster at all. The charm could have a strength, the monster could have a level, and any other modifiers could also come into play. S=strength l=monster

The job title, "Game Designer" is a very relative term, as I have seen from looking across the internets. Here is my circumstance..... I am in Accelerated Programs at my highschool(College courses in highschool, AP testing and the rest) and I am an A student(my gpa is 4.3). I am looking for a school to master in game design and I need help looking for the best school in the Dallas/Fortworth Metroplex region for that purpose.
