With the Arceans I cannot upgrade the mining starbases past Mining Barracks with any of the techs that allow for starbase mining improvements. Do not know if this is exclusively an Arcean problem as I did not have a chance to try with either Terran or Drengin. Using .083[b].000.

Running through the campaign right now, the Dread Lords seem to be utterly incapable of dealing with spies. My tactic for the missions where I've had to deal with them so far has involved, finding their home planet and dropping spies on each of their industrial bases. Suddenly they are unable to produce units and cease being a worry. I didn't like spies at first until I started learning how to use them. As others have said, the best things to target are economic resources especiall

If this gets done, it should also be possible for the player choosing the good choice to get further penalized or for the player choosing the evil choice to get a later bonus. For example with the underwater domes, the inhabitant may have been on the verge of becoming a minor civ and a player that chose the good option may lose the planet. They may also have been hiding a precurser (sp?) artifact that could only be found by 'throwing out the pukes'.

Last I remember hearing from the galciv 1 message boards were that the talks had fallen through with the current copyright holder (I believe Infrogrames). Stardock was still planning to do a fantast TBS game, but that the MoM2 name was going to be too expensive to use. I believe that they had been talking about using Elementalist as the alternative name. Bear in mind that all of this is from memory from about 6-8 months ago. There is/was

1. I would like to have ships auto-move prior to hitting the turn button. In galciv 1, we could do this by pressing the space button and all the ships with auto-move would move. The auto-move semi-between turns is less efficient since a ship may have additional moves at the end of the turn remaining and has occasionally been the difference between winning a race for a planet and losing by 1 turn. 2. I would like to be able to put survey sh

Sounds like my manager. He's always really excited when he gets 2-3 hours free without any management work that needs doing so that he can come in and do some coding.

You may want to install SmartException (it is in the Free Stuff section in Stardock Central) and run it while you are playing. When the application crashes, it will then save a GalCiv2.EXE.CRA file onto your computer (on mine it drops it into c:), which you can send back to the developers to help them fix the problem. Also not a bad idea to check to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your video card.

When my turn button disappeared it did eventually come back. May have been related to an autosave that was happening at the same time. For now you may want to consider turning autosave off (since you can't reload games and saving will occasionally crash the game).

Three issues in increasing orders of baddness. 1. The sliders in the tech window are rather unresponsize. Clicking beyond the slider doesn't cause them to move until the mouse moves (unlike traditional apps, which move when you click somewhere else). Also arrows on sides of sliders do not seem to function well. I seem to remember that this functionality had been in the previous version. 2. Occasionally right clicking on anomalies will cause the g

Multiplayer will not be in GalCiv2 because the vast majority of players do not play multiplayer. Putting in multiplayer support means that some other features will need to be left out to put in multiplayer support.

Taking a shot at the easy one: athletes are not overpaid because we live in a free market society where people are paid what other people are willing to pay them. The most highly paid professional athletes are paid what they are in large part because they are both very good and in short supply. Due to the short supply of exceptional players and the relativly high demand for good players, their salaries are to be expected. The revenue that th

Dr. Guy, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you haven't been to college recently or have any children that are in/nearing college. Merit-based scholarships do not exist at many schools. At this point close to 90-95% of all money being given to students in order to attend college is need-based. Need-based scholarships are pretty much designed to allow low income students to attend college. The downside is that students of

Just to reiterate what BakerStreet said, this came up for a vote in the House of Representatives yesterday or the day before. It was backed by 2 democratic representatives and failed 405 to 2. Only 1 of the co-authors was willing to vote for this legislation. With numbers like that, it is unlikely that the draft is going to come back within the next couple years.
