Together with the already mentioned DLC a free patch will also be released: The 1.4 Patch has a huge list of features and changes: http://ageofwonders.com/announcing-patch-v1-4-now-in-public-beta-on-steam/ The Golden Realms DLC appears to cost 12 euros or 12 dollar. <a href="http://ageofwonders.com/golden-realms-ex

The engine is already multithreaded. This was stated by the developers.
Now that patch 1.2 is out, the devs are posting development journals again. The first one is about a new victory condition called 'Seals of Power'. It is meant among other things to make the endgame more interesting. http://ageofwonders.com/expansion-dev-journal-seals-of-power-victory-condition/ It looks very interesting to me. What do you think?
There is a new patch on the way. If you bought the game on steam you can participate in the beta. It is scheduled for release nect week, if everything goes well. It should fix a lot of the level4 unit issues and balance issues. They also give a glimpse on upcoming new features concerning better empire building and dimplomacy. http://ageofwonders.com/forums/topic/v1-092-huge-beta-patch-available-on-steam-2/

Total. very cool Well not for WOM it wasn't. That game will haunt me forever.
On the other hand, maybe in hindsight, it brought you a lot of good as well. Seeing where you are now with the company. But of course I can't tell for sure.</p
Quoting ten9, reply 123ave you actually played the game? Most reviews indicate it has a lot of depth. Could be you are missing some element that you find very important in games. But reviewer consensus seem to indicate that your general remarks are just wrong. As Aristotle already pointed out in his discourse on logic - the argument from authority is of the weakest kind (and here I use him as my authority <b
AOW3 doesn't have much depth (outside of the tactical battles). It's about as complex as the old warlords games but without the careful balance those games had. The AI cheats on every level (income, units, what it can see) same as AOW2SM but at least it does something while it's cheating. AOW2SM ai just sat there. I still find it baffling AOW2 is so beloved by some people. The only thing going for it was it w

He speakes in superlatives. He is very positive, but finds the late game to be tedious, an often seen problem in tbs games: http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2014/04/08/age-wonders-iiis-evocative-intricate-lovely-world-without-end/ three out of five stars. <br
LH is much less visually pleasing, and AI usually doesn't impress reviewers- most of whom aren't good enough at the genre to need a solid AI.
Well, the AI of Fallen Enchantress was not perfect either when it just came out. It took several updates before it got better. And LH came out much later than that. AOW 3 did not have one update yet. It is not r
The game seems to be exceptionally well-received for a game in the genre. The first patch that fixes some urgent isues is on the way: http://ageofwonders.com/forums/topic/v1-08-beta-patch-test-branch-for-steam-users/ It will for instance fix the disjunction spamming by the AI. Nice video from one of the developers about how to use the editor: <a href=
I just started the Elven Court Campaign. I find myself just looking around the map, enjoying the sights and looking at the unit screens.
I'm downloading! It's in the top 3 of top sellers on steam!
Quoting Stuie_, reply 20 Everything about the series has always been top notch (no pun intended there) - the music, the art, the gameplay... Really looking forward to getting this. Everything? Did you never want to play a sandbox game with AOW2? Never notice that the map generator was terrible and the AI basically non-functional (not the usual "bad ai" but so awful it does nothing)?
It doesn't sound like you know the previous games. They have their own engine. Simplistic?! You obviously do not know what you are talking about. You do not have to like it, but do move on if you don't have anything meaningful to say about it.
RockPaperShotgun has an update after playing a lot of AOW III for the review. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/03/26/wot-i-think-age-of-wonders-iii/
