And watching a long confusing 5v5 game where you don't know half the time who is on who's team... Only made worse when someone goes "oh use team colours" and everyone refers to each other by their colours :P Seriously though, a competitive 1v1 ladder could be very good for this community and would help show what some of the best do to excel on all fronts :D

Question I have regarding micro... What abilities are best left disabled and which should be kept on auto use ? I just never seem to know when to use what abilities, considering how -every- time I log on online there is never any available games I can't even hop in to learn via someone telling me, but by then I have cost our team the game because I am the only player who hasn't been playing online for months/years c..c

Whats best to get as advent if your enemy is just spamming nothing but cap ships, I play with a friend on LAN and he just gets like 2-3 caps early game and uses most his credits upgrading them c..c I was thinking halcyon's with bombers ? He never makes flak and very rarely SC :3

Spam starbases, repair bays and loads of defence platform guns... rofl the ai just walk straight into them if well placed :D Oh and get the thing that stops your planets from dying from bombardment so the ai wastes time shooting them for no reason x3

I've noticed something, is it just me or out of the hundered or so people who play online, the twenty or so that know some amazing micro tips relating to positioning and execution just avoid sharing in order to keep their own personal advantage at the expense of culturing an unfriendly online experience to any new players ? I mean just look at most RTS games, you actually have the -best- players telling others how they do everything, in the hopes that the bar will be ra

Hmmm watching it now, is your name Uber in the game ? I wish you guys would be specific in terms of game names, would give me an idea who to watch rofl, always gets confusing for me with these long 5v5 games heh. Still, an hour in and its looking interesting !

Yeah man, thats the kind of stuff I mean, very good point there too I didn't think about ! Simply because most RTS games I've played don't have repair support units haha. Thanks for all your input into my last two threads, its been enlightening heh. I noticed some interesting micro with the whole z/x axis thing as well as making fighters actually fire whilst staying practically stationary in front of flaks to actually only get hit by a gun or two tops heh. For myself, I

Yeah good point, didn't mean to mention tactics like that :P I've seen people use a cap to go alongside another cap like I think the Kol or which ever one fires forward, by going to its side and just moving around in circles [the other ship was a broadside attack so was actually dealing higher damage then if it went head on] or so I believe o..o Good tips there Darvin, and as for the z axis I know you have to assign it a key but how do you use it ? I pressed the k

I am slowly becoming aware of some interesting micro tactics such as force targeting certain ships based on armor type and moving to avoid front or broadside attacks from caps... BUT, what I haven't seen anywhere is a list or summary of the best micro tips. Most if not all RTS forums I have been on have that and I feel that your input could be very helpful. So, if you know of any interesting micro tactics or just general tips feel free to post here... Hopefully it will

Yeah was fun to watch, I liked your micro to abuse his caps direction of fire that was good, although I don't know why you needlesly lost so many caps and often didn't keep them near repair bays when he was attacking, still was a fun game to watch n..n

Was fun to watch, although the 5v5's are -very- hard to keep track of, was nice that a few of the games didn't just end when one person left which is a huge shocking change lol... That 1v1 was great to watch, most entertaining of the lot to be honest :3

Thanks for the tip Darvin, I was reading about using the x axis for movement, I assigned it a key but have no clue how to use it, tried pressing it with move selected and it was working out :P Edit: Karma for you n..n
