I awoke this afternoon (I keep strange hours) to my wife frantically trying to explain to me that something was 'living' in our car. She thought we had a small rodent or even the dreaded evil Drusilla (a bird we recently set free, more on that in another blog). I could tell immediatly that the problem was mechanical - the car was clicking, from somewhere deep in its depths. The kind of diabolical, monotonous clicking that lets you know something just isnt right. I fear our car. I refuse

Well, I just received THE phone call I've been waiting for for 4 years. Honestly, the one I've been waiting for since I married my wife almost 8 years ago. I got THE job. It's exactly what I've been doing for the past 5 years, designing cell phone sites (those big antenna towers you see everywhere). I work from my cozy home here in Houston for companies all over the USA. The problem with that is that during the "down time", when work is slow coming in at the change of each quarter, my
ParaTed2k: Actually I think it was the way iamheather said. Her first husband drank heavily and beat her. Her second husband, a sober and peacful man, kicked her to the curb when she became pregnant. Literally kicked her to the street. So other than bad judgement in her earlier husbands, I dont think iamheather has much in her own life to improve upon. She's a pretty outstanding person, fantastic mother and what every man could ask for in a wife. Unless you don't want kids or are a drunken basta
A few days ago I received an email from a representative for a company that is taking DesktopX to the Japanese market. To sum it up: "We are writing to ask you the permission of the use of your DesktopX artwork(s) at our web site. Our company connected Stardock Corporation, Inc, with the licensing agreement of DesktopX. We are going to sell it in Japan and set up the site in which DesktopX artwork(s) are introduced. We want to introduce your cool artwork(s) to Japanese users i
A few people have wondered whats happened to me here at Joe User. I've been working alot lately, and holidays make me crazy. But the truth is I've been sucked back in to one of the most addictive games I've ever played, Star Wars Galaxies. I started playing it about 16 months ago. MMPORGS were new to me at the time, I'd never played EverCrack, and I was hesitant to get involved in a game requiring so much commitment. But the Star Wars branding pulled me in anyway... Star Wars games are
I appreciate this, the spam here was even bringing down the mighty Firefox browser, so you know it had to be bad.
DNCdude: I believe Brad asked for plans, not daydreams, which is another failure of the utopian ideals of the Democratic party. Let's use your plans as an example. Homeland security: When relationships were supposedly 'strong' with other nations, terrorists roamed freely. Remember the Clinton years? Emabassies were blown up by terrorists every other month. Working within the UN has gotten us nowhere, but it has made certain politicians within the UN much richer when they wer
Get better soon sweetheart!
I know that I am opinionated, and sometimes harsh. I have little tolerance for dissenting points of view at times, and that is a character trait of mine that often offends, resulting in many of you blacklisting me. So be it. But if you have blacklisted me, you have also blacklisted iamheather, my wife, and I would ask you to take me off your list for her sake. My time at JU has been somewhat reduced lately. You'll notice that my daily blogs are fewer and farther betwee
It's not, I'll tell you why in my next blog entry.
I don't understand the point of this article. Are you against diamonds, crappy advertising or selfish people expecting to get something in return for an expensive gift? I don't mind advertising. Of course all advertising is about how a product will improve your life. Tide detergent won't make you happier, GAP clothes won't make you into a model, and diamonds don't mean you're getting any respect or love. I think a "Family Guy" short on diamonds pretty much sums up all diamond advertisin
I'm a forum junkie. I love the arguements about politics, religion and sex (all the things you don't bring up in polite company). Every forum has a place for a signature at the bottom of your post, and these are a few of my favorites I picked up some years back. . . <img src=http://www.aero-soft.com/zombie/resources/Sig
I've been preaching this same message of internet salvation ever since Firefox was known as Phoenix. Firefox is THE better browser. Tabbed browsing will change the way you surf the internet (for the better) and I dont even remember what a pop up looks like! Safari is an ok browser. Funny how the pro-Mac comment sounded a little arrogant, with no room for any other software to be as good. This is a common attitude among Mac users. Go ahead and love your Mac, I'll be creating content and
Looks like I'm getting a job. After two years of a "job interview". Technically, I already have a job - I'm self employed, working from home doing CAD design work for instruction books and telecomm companies. I've done ok over the past few years. I mean, we all have clothes and we haven't starved to death yet. :) My biggest client, a company out of the Northwest, is offerring me a job. I've done work for them for two years now, and it's been a great relationship. By comparison
Kinda sad they can't own up to who they're really poking insults at, just another example of how people wont have the b@ll$ to admit when theyve done something wrong.
Last real upgrade I made was better memory and a new CPU with a bigger FSB...seems 150mb CAD files were choking my system. Now everything is quick and smooth.
If you're reading this article, you've probably fallen into the upgrade trap at some point in your life. Speedy new computer parts, bigger, faster, sleeker than the ones you own. And you want them. It could be a new laser mouse, with all the bells and whistles, or the latest processor or even a smaller, better digital camera. You see the Intel commercial for their latest, fastest processor, with a happy family having a good time around the computer. Your computer isn't that fast, and your family
I'm sure Brad has a few copies of Pro laying around that are paid for... I somehow doubt software or an OS is an issue. ;)
Nice machine Brad. I've been thinking about making the move back to Intel for awhile now, the new P4's really seem to be strong. Thats going to last you for a very long time...
Don't remember Republicans 'shooting off missles' at interns in the Oval Office...
How can you be a writer if you don't like gin and tonic???
So my wife is on the PTO board. She also volunteers for fundraisers, goes out for coffee with friends, and basically does alot of things I'm not interested in. And sometimes, just because she likes me, she drags me along. ;) First it was holidays with the families. I see our families all year long. They make a point to stop in at least once a month. They're good people, I like them, but this usually means I have to do foreign things around the house, like shower. When Thanksgiving comes
Thanks for the tip Brad. I'd set up my WinCustomize site tonight, but now my wife's recruited me for a yearbook logo. Kids... if they only knew that as much as they work at school, parents are in the background working just as hard. You gotta love em.
I've been pretty outspoken lately about the quality of Stardocks DesktopX widgets. After writing up 5 articles about how DesktopX could be improved, I figured it was time to give something to DesktopX users instead of just running my mouth. So a new DesktopX widget was devised. Brad Wardell, top dog at Stardock and resident celebrity, directed me to Martin Conroy for help. Martin is pretty much a genius with DesktopX widgets, and was able to piece together a rough draft of my idea i
You're killing me. All weekend long I've been going back and forth between an Xbox and Halo2 or Half-Life2 and a new Mx1000. You're not making this any easier. BTW, you keep talking about this new uber box on the way. Whats the specs? If you tell me you're going to have SLI nVidia graphics my head might explode...
