I think he was mostly pointing out that I go at a quick speed and unless you have a decent idea of what is going on in the game, the replay isn't going to be helpful on strategy :P

There was a post earlier today talking about it.. but.. it was deleted within the last couple hours. I don't know why.. perhaps they decided not to do the offer? Mildly confused.. I haven't received an email about it yet either so...hmm.
And another replay up. QoT / Sed / Rook vs Reg / UB / Ere Demigod Crazy 3v3 wtf pt 1 Demigod Crazy 3v3 wtf pt 2 Demigod Crazy 3v3 wtf pt 3
1. Flag control. The more flags you control, the faster your warscore rate goes up. 2. Generally people get 2 helms and 3 health items. Some opt for 3 helms for mana intensive characters (queen of thorns, rook, oak) while others opt for 1 for less mana intensive characters (beast, torch bearer). But usually 2. Unbreakable boots are a must for pretty much everyone. 3. Unclean Beast, Oak, Erebus are all very noob friendly. I would sugges
so.. it's a little over a week away and 15 people still haven't formed a team. Are you planning on doing the same thing as last tourney where you just form random teams of those people (and have most of them drop out) ? Either way.. if you don't have a team yet, get in contact with other people who don't have a team and make one. There is only a little over 1 week until registration is over!
No.. I have not expressed that not winning is a waste of time. A game where one person ruins it is a waste. I don't care whether I win or lose as long as it was a good game. If I don't kick the noob on the opposite team and it's clear my team is just going to dominate.. that just won't be fun. I would much rather kick that person and wait for a good person on the other team so that we can have a close game, even if it's a loss for me. Having the stat overlay has
Ya I'll cast that one. Luckily I did manage to save the replay. I'll do that sometime tomorrow hopefully.

K cya. Also, winning isn't everything. In fact, I'm arguing AGAINST that. I would rather play decent opponents than blast through a bunch of noobs. I would rather lose to good opponents and have a good game. You would apparently rather slaughter your opposition or be slaughtered. But hey, w/e. Changing something about the game doesn't mean you have to change something to make it worse than it already is. Changes that would IMP
It's already been brought up in countless arguments in numerous threads. I could search for them and post a link, but if you want to see the specific links, then search for them yourself?
The only condition you should have is having fun
I also addressed this. If you think it's fun to waste your time, then go for it and have fun. It just doesn't make any sense. You're more than welcome to purposefully play to lose or w/e.. but the majority of play
Actually, I'm one of the people who has pointed out numerous flaws in demigod and complained quite heavily about the flaws. Little tip bud, I'm all for making the game grow, but removing player stats encourages the game to die. It's not a time kill for me.. I already explained how it isn't.. and all those gains are due to my use of time. Does it specifically have to be demigod? No.. just talking about games in general. Does it still apply then to Demigod?
no, I'm making 2 different points. The "ITS JUST A GAME" argument is also shot down in general by people who play games for a living. Also, just on that point, there is money to be made playing demigod (albeit not very much), so saying there isn't any at all is also wrong. I don't consider playing video games a waste of time. It's something I enjoy doing and well spent leisure hours. If you consider it to be a waste of time, I don't understand wh
The difference here is IT IS JUST A GAME. Demigod is not real life. No money is earned playing it. Nothing bad will happen to anyone if a noob joins your team. There is no prize for winning a game.
This gets thrown around in so many games. There are so many things you have wrong here. There is money earned playing this game, and certainly in other games (the GSL just finished for Sta
I don't know offhand how to fix this for you, but your video isn't maxed out on youtube, making it a little harder to see. I think that's a problem from when you compressed it and didn't have the correct settings to get the correct resolution or something. Also, max length is 15 min for a non premium youtube account.. don't know why you only had the 3 minute pt 1, but it could have all been done in 2 parts :) As for the actual commentary, I liked the pausi
whew.. finally all done with this weekend. Srsly.. started out on the range @ 8 a.m. friday, finished 10 p.m. friday.. started saturday @ 5:30 a.m. and finished 8 p.m. , sunday did physical fitness test @ 7 a.m. and finished 4 p.m. .. Then I crashed for 15 hours of sleep lol. Anyway.. I should have another replay up soon.. I'll look whether I want to do the one you asked about or the one mcshane requested. Also, just about to watch ur commentary :)
that has been discussed over and over. Most ppl who experienced DG prior to the overlay agree that the overlay was nice. Otherwise it was constantly alt-tabbing to look ppl up on pantheon, and it would achieve the same result but it took a lot longer and ppl often crashed while looking up stats. Releasing a competitive game w/out stats is pointless imo. Although the current ladder system is pointless so.. I suppose it's similar.
to put a 2 hour replay on youtube, you would have to watch it all the way through on normal while recording with 3rd party software, then use another 3rd party software to compress the video footage (probably about 8 hours to compress), then upload in 15 minute chunks to youtube (depending on your upload speed.. ~6-20 hours). Or you could just upload the game to gamereplays.org for ppl to download and it would take about 5 minutes.
I rendered it in 15 minute chunks into .wmv you can upload straight into youtube w/ .wmv Also, I talked to a buddy of mine who did the bulk of the work for the replays for Vodka (top 10 world guild in WoW.. high quality replays).. said he uses premiere primarily but that there is little difference between vegas (what I used) and premiere. Although he did say that vegas was slightly easier to use (why he then still uses premiere is beyond me.. but w/e)

nah it didn't give too much trouble.. just realized after I finished that game sound was a little low. It's present.. just low. I'll get it fixed in the next one. As it is, part 1 is finished! Part 2 should take another 2 hours, and part 3 should be like 30 minutes. Ideally. In the meantime, I'm looking for another replay in my list of saves.
you can pick one or the other, or both. It also just records mic audio without having to hold down a key. Sony Vegas just finished.. compressed the first 15 minutes down to 400 mb. YouTube allows 15 minutes and 2 gb.. so I don't see a problem using fullsize to get hd quality in future replays. Uploading now and rendering the next part. Should hopefully have the whole replay up in .. oh ffs my upload speed is so fucking slow. Hooray estimated 1.5 hours to up
actually a lot of the sc2 commentary is done with 1 person, although live commentary is usually done with 2. I crashed when running Sony Vegas 9.0. Basically this takes the huge fraps files and allows you to edit the video / audio and then compress it down. For some reason youtube doesn't like 20 gb files ;) Oh well, 1st 15 minute chunk is 1/2 done. Hopinnngg it finishes w/out a problem and I can figure out the last stage of uploading to youtube.
bah.. rendering failed due to lack of memory or something last night. Restarted my comp and cleaned up some shit.. cpu running much lower. Hopefully I'll get the rendering done today.
2. Otherwise w/ round robin you don't get the feeling of an end, and the (hopefully) best match last. Although option 1 seems to drag the ending out a little long.
