"trying to install Taliban-style governments" is a little much though. there are rebel groups in each of these states (rather few in numbers), but i don´t see Taliban-style governments there soon. Somalia might be an exception, but then i don´t see any type of government in Somalia. the northern region (former Somaliland) looks a little better and those aren´t extremists.

the real alternative to prevent terrorism would be to eliminate the reasons (injustice) for it. if the Jewish settlers would leave the occupied territories in Palestine, it would a lot harder for Hamas or the Jihad to recruit young men. Rafiki, first of all you should send this as an email to Rainy, i´m sure he will appreciate that. but i doubt he visits this message board. for your questions: Rainminder is not a standalone program, but a LiteStep module. it can do everything you asked for, but needs LiteStep running as shell or on top of explorer. have a look at the Rainminder and Rainlendar documentation at Rainy´s site

Styl skinner: you are using Windows98 right? press F8 while booting. select DOS mode (command line). type "edit". hit return. now you are in the MSDOS text editor. open c:\windows\system.ini . change the line that says: shell=c:\litestep\litestep.exe to shell=explorer.exe reboot. after that please check the documentation on OTS.

so this has turned into a LS thread? sometimes even a topic like rips ends up in something productive. the slowdowns you might have noticed with other desktop replacements is because those run on top of the Windows default shell (explorer.exe), so if you are running more programs you can´t expect them to use less resources. with shell replacements as LS that´s different. you run LS instead of
