And yes HeyYou I agree you always need to do the updates to protect yourself from the IIS and all other holes in the apps. That is why it is good to keep up to date on all patches, and developments. I thought it would be good to warn people about the new version release that hit the net yesterday.

I know what you mean FlipNET about the lights on your modem, mine have been the same way, and it is really annoying. If you are running a cable or DSL modem with an ethernet connection you may want to look into the linksys cabel/dsl router with hardwired firewall. It will help keep most of this stuff from hitting your software firewall and clogging your report logs. Yes this is all minimal protections, but it keeps most of the main stream stuff out.

Nope not a furniture designer, just never find what I want in the stores or at a price I would consider paying, so I find it more fun to take the time and put the effort into making my own. May have a few flaws in it, but ends up closer to what is really needed. Well back to shock theropy have fun....

Yes I agree with FlipNET, personally I have never had any problems with Nortons Antivirus programs and found them to be a lot more solid and definetly detect a lot more little annoying virus's then some of the others on the market. Just take a few minutes to read the manual to configure it to suit your needs.

Just a little note to let you know that yesterday version 3 of code red was released on the net. Yep someone rewrote the original to an updated version. Also if anyone has looked at their stats for thier websites and seen high number failures to access a file called default.ida from my understanding this failure shows the server your site is hosted on was under attack but the ISP was smart and did the updates to prevent the attack from doing any damage.

THanks for the link those look fantastic, the only drawback I saw was the lack of multiple keyboards, but otherwise that does look like an ideal design for a workstation setup. Along with gives me some great ideas for a new desk arangement I have been debating building. Two bad they do not need beta testers to promote and test the new designs.

The eye strain is an issue, I would be jumping off the walls if I could run 1600x1200, but I am currently on 17 inch monitors on all three systems and my eyes cannot handle anything above 1280x1024, The eye strain is slightly still there, but the work space is more important, and you are right, when working on printed material or large scale prints you need that work space. Also a few microscopes help.

Draginol, I may be blind which is not a shock, but I was wondering what the total data transfer for wincustomixe is for a week. Just an average. There is all the talk about the hits and downloads but I think the actually gigs of transfer would be mindblowing to know. This may be in other threadz but I have yet to see it. Thanks

OK how about expanding the ideas behind this thread, find a wall artist that you like, propose an idea for a wall to that person, then once the wall is in a final or beta stage send out the word to generate matching or uniform skinz for all the apps and shells. This way you get the foundation down.

yes there are some very good aspects to team projects. For example look how many people make a skin or wall and there just seems to be something missing. Also there are some people that have a strength in creating the base for a wall, the concepts, color pallete and etc, but not the patience to do all the detail work or converting it to multiple apps. yes the circle would be oblong if they have there display setting to stretch, and if they have it set to center or tile, then will lose part of the image. If it is possible create the image in both aspect ratio's. For example most of the images I make I render to each specific size, so there is no problem with aspect ratios and no resizing. No I do understand that this is not practical for most photo shop or etc creators, but you can always make walls in 1280x1024 then offer then in the other ra

Here is a really scarry thought. Most of my commercial customers are addicted to 800x600 and would never switch to a higher resolution. Ok on a 14 inch or smaller laptop display I can see that, but the 17 inch or larger screens, that is like being attacked by giant icons that rule your screen

Became addicted when pong hit the shelves. Then was estatic when I got my first Atari 800 and learned to do small graphics if you can call them that in DOS. Expanded to the powerful osborne portable computers...Which a TI scientific calculator is now more powerful. So all in all started when computers where the size of small stores and running on vacuum tubes and have been lost ever since.
