Each to his own... I absolutely agree,each to their own,I hope it didn't look like I was criticizing(if it did,sorry). Also...well done Cindy <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0

Ok,so bear with me here I'm not much of a forum poster, and certainly no expert on graphics etc. but screenshots....aren't they just screen captures of other peoples work?Surely all they show is that the user is capable of configuring the software used to load the relevant skins and is able to arrange them on his/her desktop in an aesthetically pleasing way.. Yes I uploaded my desktop screenshot to the May comp. but only the one,as it is the one I use daily,so I'm with c242 on this.I mean,If
hey i am looking for that pirate desktop program but i have no way to buy it. think you could help me out plz? contact me at [email protected] pur·chase : 1. to acquire by the payment of money or its equivalent; buy. Simple concept. Anything else is theft.
XP sp2 is fine. You don't have to have DX running, the Pirate Gadgets are stand-alone. I haven't heard of MCP needing to be enabled for gadgets to work - only for having a DX system tray enabled. I'm stumped as to what can be causing the gadgets to close and be unstable. I would submit a work ticket with support. Sorry I couldn't help more. No problem BDF,thanks for your input. I've mailed support so I'll post here if I get things fixed up. Than
What operating system are you using? When was the last time you cleared the DesktopX cache? CorkyO has an excellent article on the topic. Clearing the DesktopX cache is absolutely necessary from time to time. Hi BDF, I have XP sp2.I have cleared the DX cache.Although I have DX installed I don't use it.Does it need to be loaded to make these gadgets work?I thought they were standalone gadgets.Shouldn't they load with the suite like the gadgets in WC
Firstly, sorry for my grumpy posts yesterday,I'm putting it down to my age and secondly thanks for your replies folks;BigDogFeat can I check a couple of things please?..... To do this (from explorer) double click on the download (Pirate_download) and double click on the Pirate_Booty.zip. Then single click on the Gadgets\ line to highlight it. Then righ
Hi, We are aware of the technical issues with the Pirate theme. Please rest assured that it is of the highest priority that we have this fixed as soon as possible. Please look to Wincustomize.com for further updates in the near future. My apologies for the wait. Cheers Do you mean the Gadgets issue? Or the missing thumbnails issue? Why are there folders for sd plugins and App info? there weren't these with the panthe
This is one reason I quit buying these things. I bought "Pirates", because I thought it looked cool. I can't even get the WB to work. I've contacted whoever it was that put it out, and I bought it a day or two after it came out, and I still haven't heard anything from hin. Next time I'll listen to my self, an not but it. There is a page somewhere in here that tells how to use Pirates. It is no help. I have to agree with you Hippie, and thanks for the mor
Also, the thumbnail preview in Theme Manager shows a totally different suite!
Anyone ?
Yesterday I bought the Pirate suite. It looks great but I can't get the gadgets to work. How do I install the gadgets (theme manager does not apply them). They are in individual folders in a separate goodies folder.Do I need to put these folders(containing the gadgets) somewhere in particular? Are they standalone?? I have tried just double clicking the gadget exe.'s ,they appear on my desktop but as soon as I go into their settings and set them to start at system startup they disappear
Great suite!! but I can't get the gadgets to work Do I need to put their folders somewhere in particular? because at the moment I just double click on the gadget in for example the calendar gadget folder,it appears on my desktop then I set it to start with windows and it disappears. Any ideas? please.
It certainly makes me reluctant to post.Shame really as I think this site has a lot to offer.
Guys, the original poster wasn't even given the opportunity to specify. There are many ways to customize your desktop for free. But you tend to get what you pay for. I agree, maybe the guy just wanted to know if there was a free legitimate equivalent. If people keep attacking and mocking posters here no one will post anymore. Was the "screw you" comment really necessary?
I have this problem too .I have contacted support@stardock and they are looking into it so I'll post here when they get back to me.
You worship Google?? Blimey. Um....that'll be a 'no'.....[note the lack of winks, etc in #6].... Ah yes...sorry,I wasn't concentrating. <img src="http://images.

Hopefully this ficticious n00b will read my comments and have a more balanced view. Maybe, but I'm not sure that my 67 year old Dad(for example)scours the web.The daily newspaper is as far as he and many others tend to get.So their views tend to be based on the editorial agenda of these publica
My comment/comparison had a touch of the devil's advocacy about it to be honest Zubaz. I agree with you that it all comes down to the choice of the individual as to which online services we choose to use and personally I do use Google as I find it impressive and is becoming ever more so.But,maybe a person who does not use the net as much as we do or has limited knowledge of such things might look at this a
As time marches on,so does the rise and rise of the Google empire. Very soon they will know more about 'us' than 'we' do. Can we trust their methods of collecting information about us and what's more can we rely on them to use it ethically? Read on... WWW Link
Allow use of pngs instead of bitmaps..which would allow for transparency on the background. The transparency slider makes everything transparent, including the text..I can make a Rainlendar using png's and can make then as tranparent as I want. This would be so much easier when making rounded corners etc in RC. Save Config..that has always been something that should be included. Nothing worse than losing a your perfectly set up RC. RightClick is one
Probably best to email [email protected] explaining your issue with IP. I'm sure they will be able to assist you in resolving this problem. OK thanks,I've just mailed them. However,my confidence with Stardock support is low as I also purchased IconX a while ago aswell and it has never worked properly,it destroys desktop right click menu and conflicts with DesktopX (when DX is running,IconX will not auto start at system startup).I mailed them abo
Have you tried starting IP then clicking on settings and selecting Rebuild Icon Cache and Repair Icon Images? Then try and install new Icon packages and see if that resolves your issue. Thanks for the reply Hankers. Yep Hankers,I tried that but still no good. It's like IP doesn't recognize the packages.I've also tried un-installing/re-installing IP but still no good.
I'm not sure what's happened to my set up here but I am no longer able to install icon packages by directly using IP. I have tried installing by clicking on the download link on WC.com and then letting IP try to install the downloaded package,I have also tried right clicking and save target method and then install from disk in IP. In both cases the IP package is downloaded to my pc but in each case it is not installed( icon packager opens but the package isn't there). The only way I
I use Tag&Rename ( WWW Link ) in conjunction with WMP11 and find it to be an excellent solution for music organization.
