The search. I have never found it to be very effective. Needs to be more intuitive or at least give more general results. One word searches seem to work best but many skins have more than one word which seems to confuse the search engine. I have typed a name in the search box many times only to have it come up empty. It really needs to be improved because the way it is now is not even worth using.

I might be strange but I am not to proud or ashamed to show my support for our French cousins.

"I think you might be a tad over the top, JC. Malwarebytes Pro and this anti-ransomware are plenty. You can duckduck the other software for known conflicts. I would just keep the two, and use MS Herdprotect which scans your disk with 68 antiviral engines...you might want MS's EMET as well." That would give me 4 programs total which is what I have now so I am assuming heardprotect and emet are better than wh
My question Doc. is can we have to many security programs installed? I have Panda Antivirus, Malwarebytes Premium, IObit Malware fighter, and Advance System Care Pro all running on my PC. I am wondering how many programs we should keep installing because of possible conflicts?
From all Canadians our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Right on starkers. I been in your shoes a few to many times so I know what it is like. You will be much happier now with your own space. I am happy for you.
Jim I cannot remember the details and not sure if this even applies but was there not a fix that you and I talked about a while back for making gadgets work on a 64bit machine something about replacing a file in the 64 bit sidebar folder with the one from the 32bit folder or are we talking about standalone gadgets which are not dependent on that?

Thanks for the interesting reply starkers. Pipes can be expensive. Most of mine are not expensive but I have a morta (bog-wood pipe) that cost a small fortune. I find the whole bog-wood topic interesting in itself. For those who don't know what morta is here is a brief description. "trees that have been buried in peat <a title="Bog" href="https://en.wiki
First let me begin by saying that I hope this thread does not become a tobacco bashing thread with rants of how smoking is harmful. I think we all know that smoking anything is not good for our bodies and just because pipe smokers are generally not inhalers does not make it safe. I gave up smoking cigarettes 25 years ago however about 3 times a week, (usually in the morning with a cup of coffee) I smoke a bowl in one of my pipes, yes it is tobacco and yes it is a tobacco pipe, lol. My wife prefers Chicken over turkey so she went out and bought the biggest she could find along with potatoes, squash, turnip, carrots and peas. I am about to make a pumpkin pie. Happy Thanksgiving.
I could be wrong but even though it is built into windows it is only activated if you installed windows 10 using a Microsoft account. I have never seen any sync notifications or onedrive in my system tray using a local account. I do not sync anything and I do not get apps from the store.
There is an easier and even better way Jim. Do not log onto your computer with a Microsoft account. When I installed windows 10 I signed in with a local account and made sure all sync settings were disabled, they may have been by default on a local account but I cannot remember. I never had onedrive show up on my computer but I do occasionally use it online directly from my email account.
Yes it is October.
I have never used SRWare Iron but Wiki has an interesting article about it especially the criticism section. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRWare_Iron Make of it what you will.

I do not play games and if Stardock wants to advertise their software to me they can continue to do so the way they have been doing it which is through emails.
