When you use the search you get everything related to xwidget including screenshots and a bunch of other junk. The best and easiest way is to find a widget you like and save it in your favorites. There is a rainmeter gallery but not everyone uses rainmeter and it is harder to skin than xwidget, (well not really but more code involved). I don't know why there could not be a xwidget gallery here. It would only serve to bring more people to the site. Varity is a good thing.

Sysmetrix still works to some degree but there is a lot outdated about it that will never receive updates. Last I used it the weather was still working but sysmetrix weather was never great. Only supports 1 processor and all the motherboard options do not work. Email is limited too. Skinning it is easy but having to use a bitmap for the background sucks. It is good software but without updates I won't be using it any longer. I now use xwidget because it offers more options. 
This might sound strange and I am not sure this will work but sign in with a local account instead of your Microsoft account and then try it. If you cannot even create shortcuts than there is something else going on besides just an OD problem. Sounds like there are ownership issues and sometimes even running as administrator wont resolve it. I was having some issue after I installed 10 and using a local account resolved them. I thought this must be a normal thing because I get emails all the time from Stardock and I do not have any boxes checked in my email preferences. I got one today as a matter of fact. It really does not bother me. I could mark it as spam but choose not to because I am afraid I will miss out on important future emails. The funny thing is I am still waiting for the robo calls and spam from other sites such as PayPal which I have not even opt out of.

If you can find foobar ,fth theme files they are the way to go. fth files are self installers. The majority of skins you find involve copying and replacing files. The theme I did in the screenshot I have as an fth file so if you want it let me know.
Well this is an old thread however winamp might be officially dead. The site has been dead since the takeover. I never thought that I would leave winamp but I now use Foobar2000. It is not as user friendly as other players but you sure can do lots with it if you want more than just a basic player, Here is how I have mine set up. Two things that suck about Edge, (there are more). Compare the 2 screenshots. Internet Explorer has a much better right click menu. This is especially important if you want to save a picture to your computer. With Edge I have yet to figure out how to save an image unless it is accomplished via screenshot. You cannot right click on a picture and save it or set is as wallpaper. The other thing is plugin in support. For example I like that I can translate a page of a different language with
