Random question: do you happen to know how about how much an Accuracy International L96A1 would cost, in US$?
All I know is that it is available internationally, but you'll have trouble finding prices on the internet unless you have an "airsoft filter" (if only those existed) or lots of patience. Maybe ask a gun-store on your side of the pond. Also, keep in mind that there are many, many variants of the Accuracy Inte

Interesting that you'd choose a 7.62 round for shorter ranges and a 5.56 round for longer-distance engagements. I personally would prefer the opposite. At close range, if you really need stopping power, fire a three round burst, or even open fire fully-automatically, which is comparably managable with an assault rifle. However, for long ranges (eg on non-urban patrols in Afghanistan) the tactic seems to be to close to a range where you can actually hit the enemy with your

The American "M" makes some sense to me, as it was initially "M#=Model [year]", whilst the named designations of Russian ordnances also make sense; it's an abbreviation of the weapon's description, and also usually includes model year (I never really got the GRAU index).
Limey. Before I comment on Storm's work, have a sample of some writing in the style of CS Multilaser. The Khorne Berserker pulled the trigger, and watched as the Eldar's torso was torn to shreds by the round. The Berserker lowered the sniper rifle and smiled grimly. More souls for Slaanesh , he thought. And now from a Matt Ward perspective. The Khorne Berserker charged down the hill, screaming an incoherent cry of hatred, insanity, and depravity. The subject o

Lol just noticed that. Good spot. Funny that they'd use time twice like that. Terribly inarticulate. Anyway, I'm off to watch "Our War" now. Have fun.
I shall now steal Storm's thunder and point out the error in the Server Maintenance notice. Oh dear.

I have to say that I prefer Fallout 1 to Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Tactics was meh, and Fallout 2 I've never really played as much. I went through the preliminary zone of it, but never went further. I simply preferred Fallout 1. Maybe I should go back to that second installment... Fallout 1's atmosphere is very good I think. The world is only just recovering. However, it is doing so in such a way that there is indeed hope, just look at Shady Sands. It represents the return of s

Hmm... Most of my friends would barely give the original Fallouts (ie all of them except 3 and New Vegas) a passing glance before passing them off as "it looks shit" or similar (upper-middle class male teenagers are an opinionated bunch in England) and going back to CoD/GoW/Halo/other mainstream games. However, I find that those who are into stuff like Fallout are much easier to get along with, mainly because they're not convinced that their opinion is always the "correct" opinion

I hate to break it to you Whiskey, but you will never deliver a better Chaos-related rant than this guy. He is a badass of epic proportions. And well voiced. And a psyker. Errm... Well at least he never uses psyker stuff. Maybe Khorne can forgive him for that. And the fact that he's sacrificing a sub-sector to him. Anyway, enjoy the show.
In more general terms, the problem is this: science tells us that there exist phenomena which can translocate matter from one position to another with a constant expenditure of energy (a wormhole crossing over the same distance will require the same mass to create regardless of which direction it is pointed). However, depending on the position, that object can have either greater or lesser potential energy than at its previous position, which ca
